About Landscapes in Gouache & Acrylic

Gouache and acrylics are my favorite mediums because they offer such a rich, opaque finish. Unlike watercolors, these paints let me layer colors and fix little mistakes easily, which is why I use them for almost all my landscape work. Whether I am capturing the glow of a sunset or the deep greens of a magical forest, these paints allow me to build texture and depth that really brings the scene to life on canvas or paper.

My take on a rainy monsoon day, using oil pastels to create the effect of water droplets on a window. It was a fun challenge to create a sense of depth and transparency.
This was my very first attempt at painting with gouache! I think it turned out "not so perfect," but I learned so much about the medium and had a great time creating this little forest pond scene.
