Working with coffee is an exercise in patience—you are layering stains to build depth, and it honestly smells like a cozy cafe while you paint. Gold foil is the exact opposite; it is finicky, requires a steady hand, and turns a simple sketch into something that catches every bit of light in the room. You do not need to be a pro to handle either, just ready to get a little messy.
Painting with Coffee
It is not just painting; it is a lesson in control and monochromatic beauty. We use varying concentrations of coffee to create shadows, highlights, and sepia-toned landscapes. It feels like painting with history. You will learn to manipulate the liquid to achieve different shades, turning your canvas into a rustic, nostalgic piece that looks like it belongs in an old journal.
The Gold Foil Technique
This is for anyone who wants their art to pop. We use delicate gold leaf sheets that require a gentle touch—if you breathe too hard, they fly away! It is deeply satisfying to see a dull surface transform into something shimmering and tactile. I guide you through the adhesive application and the precise moment to peel back the foil to reveal your design.
Logistics & Setup
Whether you are booking a session at a partner cafe in Bangalore or want me to bring the studio to your home, I cover all the logistics.
- Supplies: I bring the canvases, high-quality gold foil, brushes, and the coffee mixtures.
- Space: For home parties, I bring plastic drop cloths to protect your flooring, and I handle the cleanup afterward so you can just enjoy the process.
- Experience: No art skills are required. I am there to guide you through the process, from the first sketch to the final touch, ensuring you leave with something you are proud to hang on your wall.
