Custom Mixed Media and Abstract Art in Mumbai
Beyond my charcoal portraits, I love experimenting with mixed media, pyrography, and textured abstracts. If you're looking for a unique statement piece that is completely different, let's talk about what we can create together.
This piece is an example of my more abstract and surreal portrait work. I enjoy exploring different styles and themes, and my portfolio includes a wide range of art beyond traditional portraits.
About Exploring Other Art Forms
Unlike my portraits, these custom commissions usually start with a site visit or photos of your space, because context is everything. I don't just paint a picture, I often work with materials like gesso for texture or wood burning on surfaces, so I share material samples with you before the real work begins. This ensures the colors and textures actually sync with your interior lighting and furniture, rather than just looking good in my studio.
Art is a way for me to escape the routine, and this collection is where I let myself get messy. While people know me for portraits, I am constantly pushing into mixed media, pyrography (wood burning), and sculptural wall art.
How I Approach Custom Commissions
I treat non-portrait commissions like an interior design collaboration. If you have a bare wall that needs life, or a room that feels incomplete, we start by talking about the 'vibe'. I ask for photos of your furniture and the wall color. I then suggest mediums that might work—maybe a heavily textured canvas with metallic gold leaf to catch the evening light, or a pyrography piece for a warmer, earthy feel.
The Process
- Consultation: We discuss your space, the mood you want, and the size.
- Material Sampling: I don't just sketch; I show you the materials. If we go for a textured relief, I send photos of the gesso patterns or the wood finish so you know exactly what you are getting.
- Creation: I layer the medium, letting it dry and build depth. This takes time, but it allows for that 3D quality that regular paint just cannot hit.
- Finishing: Every piece is treated with professional fixatives or varnishes to ensure it lasts, whether it is a piece of art on paper or a wooden installation.
Why Different Mediums?
I believe your home should tell a story. A standard print from a store does not do that. My abstract work uses layers to create depth, so the painting looks different depending on the angle you are viewing it from or how the light hits it in the morning versus the evening. Whether you need a specific Vastu-inspired art piece or just something bold and abstract, let's chat about bringing that vision to your wall.
