Abstract Pen Art Portraits
I like to experiment with lines and shapes to create something unique. Check out my abstract pen art pieces where I use just ink and imagination to build character portraits.
Meet "Jhon uncle." This is an abstract portrait I created using only a blue pen and straight lines to build the form and texture.

Another angle of my experimental pen art. It's a fun way to explore a different side of my creativity.
About Abstract Pen Art
These abstract portraits are a complete departure from my standard caricature work. Instead of capturing a likeness, I focus on building depth using only straight lines and heavy hatching with a high-quality blue ink pen. Since this style is experimental, I usually create these on A4 paper and build the frames myself, so you get a finished piece of decor ready to put on your wall.
While most folks come to me for caricatures, this abstract style is where I push my own creative limits. It is a process of deconstruction, where I look at a face and try to find the structure using only straight, overlapping lines rather than smooth, blended curves.
My 'Jhon uncle' piece is a prime example of this workflow. I used a standard blue pen to map out the shadows and highlights, letting the density of the ink do the heavy lifting. There is no sketching underneath with a pencil, just pen on paper, which makes every line permanent and deliberate.
I use Brustro pens for these because the ink flow is consistent, allowing me to get those crisp edges. Because these are unconventional portraits, I also hand-craft simple frames for them. It feels right to keep the whole process in my hands, from the first line on the paper to the final casing. If you are bored of standard photo-realistic sketches and want something that feels edgy, geometric, and a bit wild, this is the style for you.
Dannyddarts
I am Danny, and when I am not sketching live caricatures on Church Street, I am usually at my easel experimenting with new styles like this. Abstract art is how I train my eye to see faces in lines and shapes instead of just outlines. If you want art that breaks the mold, let's talk.
