Behind the scenes: The chaos at Area 83
We don't take ourselves too seriously. Here is what happens when our team tests the rides—mostly screaming, a bit of failing, and a whole lot of laughter.
My manager asked me to check if the Sky Swing actually swings. I can confirm it does, and I'm willing to come to the office late every day for this kind of "work."
Does the Rocket Ejector actually eject you? My manager sent me to find out. The things I do for this job.
My manager asked me to check if the Superman Swing actually feels like flying. It's a tough job, but someone's gotta do it.
Today's task: check how tall this tree is by climbing it. I'm not great at math, but I made it to the top anyway.
We described our activities all wrong. This is not a "Baby Swing," it's our 80-foot Giant Sky Swing.
This isn't "Group Meditation," it's Bubble Soccer. Though it can be weirdly peaceful inside your bubble until someone tackles you.
Our marketing team found their real target audience: each other. Here they are testing out our new Jellyball game.
I told her I had a super fun day. She probably didn't expect it involved rolling around in a giant inflatable ball.
Falling on your face can't get much better than this. This is what happens when you lose your balance in Bubble Soccer.
The feeling of victory after surviving the Sky Swing. You'll want to thank God you made it.
About Just for Fun
Our team spends a lot of time testing the rides—mostly to confirm that our Giant Sky Swing actually swings and that the Rocket Ejector lives up to the name. We keep things chaotic because watching your friends try to navigate our Bubble Soccer arena or attempt a graceful dismount from the Sky Swing is half the entertainment. It is all about letting your guard down and not caring how you look when you are 50 feet in the air.
We are not your typical, polished resort. You will see us poking fun at ourselves because we believe a day out should feel like hanging with friends, not sitting through a stiff itinerary. Whether it is our team realizing Bubble Soccer is harder than it looks or our staff seeing if the Tree Climbing is actually doable for mere mortals, this is the unfiltered view of life at our Bengaluru property.
Why we share this
We know that perfect, posed photos can be intimidating. We want to show you that the 'Screamer' in your group is totally normal and that everyone—even us—eventually falls off their balance beam or loses a match.
What to expect
If you visit on a weekend, you will likely see the same level of energy on the grounds. From our Dirt Karting track where the mud gets everywhere to the lake where the only mission is to stay upright in a kayak, we focus on genuine fun over curated perfection.
A quick tip
If you are coming for a corporate retreat or a squad hangout, lean into the mess. The best photos at Area 83 are not the ones where everyone is standing still. They are the ones where someone is mid-tumble during a game of Archery Tag or trying to regain their dignity after the Giant Sky Swing. Come ready to laugh, maybe get a little dirty, and leave the proper decorum back in the city.
Area 83
I built Area 83 because I was tired of the city grind and wanted a spot where you can just be yourself. We are just a bunch of folks who love adventure, hate boring meetings, and want to make sure your weekend in Bengaluru is actually worth the drive.
