Institutional and Community Architecture Services
We shape buildings that act as catalysts for learning and serenity. By prioritizing daylight, fluid circulation, and environmental harmony, we design institutional spaces that foster collaboration and meaningful human connection.
The bridge network inside an ongoing institutional project in Bengaluru. This system of zigzagging bridges creates dynamic visual communication and physical connectivity between different departments across a multi-story atrium.
The recently completed Commercial Faculty building on Kanakpura Road. The facade features a bold juxtaposition of a large, wood-textured volume against a framed glass window, creating a modern landmark for the educational institution.
The facade of a CBSE School in Bengaluru, where symmetry and color are used to create a playful yet orderly learning environment. The projecting window bays in grey and yellow add a sense of rhythm to the building.
The entrance to a sanctuary space, designed to evoke a sense of peace and introspection. The structure uses natural materials like rammed earth walls and stone pillars to create a grounded and timeless feel.
A view of a Yoga School we designed, showing how the building is nestled into a terraced, blooming landscape. The architecture is designed to be in harmony with its natural surroundings.
The raw concrete structure of the bridging system in a Nursing College, seen here under construction. The image reveals the complex engineering required to create the crisscrossing circulation paths.
A stone pathway winds through the lush, green landscape of the Yoga School. We designed the grounds to be an integral part of the tranquil experience, guiding visitors through nature.
About this collection
Institutional projects require a delicate balance between high-capacity circulation and the need for quiet spaces. In our work, such as the Nursing College project, we utilize zigzagging bridge networks to solve complex connectivity requirements while maintaining visual communication across the atrium. We design not just for occupancy, but to influence how students and faculty move and interact throughout their day.
Designing for Community and Learning
Educational and community buildings serve as the backbone of our public life. Our approach to these spaces moves beyond standard programmatic requirements to consider how architecture can actively support the well-being of its users.
Circulation as Connectivity
In larger institutional buildings, such as schools or colleges, circulation is the primary tool for social interaction. We treat corridors and staircases as connective tissue rather than merely utilitarian hallways. By introducing systems like bridge networks, we create dynamic, multi-level visual links that allow for natural surveillance and spontaneous interaction between departments. This physical connectivity is critical in fostering a collaborative academic environment.
The Role of Nature and Light
We believe that institutional architecture must not isolate its occupants from the environment. Our work with yoga schools and community spaces demonstrates this, where we integrate the building into the landscape through terraced gardening and courtyards. We prioritize passive design, using window placement and volume management to ensure spaces are flooded with daylight. This connection to the outside world is essential for maintaining a sense of calm in high-density environments.
Materiality and Performance
Institutional spaces must be durable yet aesthetically grounding. We utilize materials like rammed earth and exposed concrete, which age gracefully and provide a sense of timelessness. For our facade designs, we often employ a juxtaposition of bold volumes against glass, creating landmarks that serve the community while providing functional shade and ventilation.
Whether designing a CBSE school or a specialized research center, our focus remains on creating an environment that feels secure, breathable, and thoughtfully ordered.
Architecture Continuous
We are a collective of architects, designers, and engineers based in Bengaluru who view institutional design as an opportunity to shape human behavior. For the past decade, we have focused on creating structures where daylight, ventilation, and movement are engineered to support learning and well-being. We do not design static boxes; we build environments that breathe and grow with their users.
