Behind the Scenes: My Journey as a Solo Artist
It started in 2016 with a single acrylic painting, and now I am here packing orders for clients worldwide. Here is a look at the grit, the learning curves, and the pure joy behind building my art studio in Mumbai.
This was a huge moment for me in 2018. I finally started my art account on Instagram, and this painting of a colorful European city was the very first piece I ever posted. It marks the official beginning of sharing my art journey with the world.
Continuing with my travel-inspired theme in 2018, I painted this vibrant and detailed piece of Times Square, New York. I remember being so proud of capturing the energy and all the bright lights of the city at night on a round canvas.
Throwback to 2019 and one of my first times painting on a wood slice. I was so inspired by this scene from Lake Tahoe, and this piece is still one of my favorites. It was a big learning curve, but it helped shape the kind of art I love to create today.
Back in 2017, I was learning how to draw in perspective and created this painting of a charming street alley. This piece is extra special because it was the first painting I ever sold, which was an incredible feeling.
This takes me all the way back to 2016. I was just trying my hand at acrylic painting after a long break from creating. This nighttime camping scene was one of my first real experiments with the medium and it reignited my passion for art.
It makes me incredibly happy to know my art lives in homes all over the world. I started in India and have now shipped paintings to the USA, Canada, UK, Australia, Japan, and many more countries. I handle all the packing myself to ensure your art arrives safely, no matter where you are.
Here's a little secret: an artist can never have enough art supplies. This is a peek at what I spend my money on, from stacks of canvases and wood slices to paints and brushes. Keeping my studio stocked is essential to bringing all my creative ideas to life.
About My Journey as a Solo Artist
When you support my work, you are getting more than just an art print or a coaster. You are getting a piece that I have personally painted, checked, and packed in my Mumbai studio. I believe that being a solo artist means being accountable for every detail, so I handle the entire process myself to ensure that my art arrives at your door exactly as I intended.
My path as an artist has been anything but a straight line. Since I picked up acrylics in 2016, my studio has evolved from a small corner where I practiced perspective drawing to a space where I now fulfill custom commissions and ship art globally.
Learning by Doing
People often see the finished prints or the final portrait, but they do not see the years of 'failed' wood slices, the late nights spent figuring out how to balance paint viscosity on different surfaces, or the sheer anxiety of my first sale. Every painting you see in this gallery represents a specific moment in my growth as an Indian artist. Whether it is a travel scene or a detailed portrait, these pieces taught me how to capture light, color, and emotion.
The Solo Artist Reality
Being a one-woman show means I wear every hat. I am the painter, the packer, the customer support, and the person who runs to the post office. It is messy, sometimes exhausting, and often overwhelming, but it allows me to keep my connection with you authentic. When you buy a notebook or a set of coasters, you are supporting a process where every item is treated as an individual piece of art rather than a mass-produced product.
Where My Art Lives Now
From shipping to Japan and the USA to local deliveries here in Mumbai, knowing that my work has found a home in your space is what keeps me going. If you are looking for custom acrylic paintings or just want to bring a bit of my creative world into your daily routine, you are in the right place. Let us create something special together.
