About Engagement & Anniversary Portraits
For engagement portraits, I dedicate 3 to 4 hours specifically to freehand sketching, ensuring the figures and outfits match your real-life photos. Since this requires high precision, I suggest booking at least two weeks in advance so I can plan the layout to fit your palms perfectly without overcrowding.
When I draw a couple’s portrait on henna, I am not just creating a design, I am recording a memory. Whether it is that moment you exchanged rings, a favorite photo from your travel, or a Pichwai-inspired motif that matches your wedding lehenga, every line is intentional.
My Portrait Process
I work directly with you to understand the specific elements that define your relationship. Many couples ask for:
- Proposal Scenes: Capturing the exact knee-drop moment.
- Outfit Replication: Intricate details from your actual engagement attire.
- Personal Symbols: Incorporating hobbies, pets, or significant dates within the henna flow.
Because I use 100% natural, chemical-free henna, the stain is deep and rich, which is vital for the photography that follows. I balance these dense portrait areas with my signature Marwari or Bombay-style fillers so that the design looks cohesive rather than cluttered.
If you are in Surat, Panchkula, or Chandigarh, I can visit your home for a relaxed session. For these customized pieces, I prefer to see your reference photos a few days before the booking so I can practice the sketch. It allows me to ensure that when I pick up the cone, the art flows naturally, and you feel, 'Haan, yeh mera din hai' (Yes, this is my day).
