I see mehandi as a form of prayer. Whether it is the divine Shreenathji or the eternal love of Radha-Krishna, I draw their presence onto your palms with devotion.

About Gods & Goddesses on Henna
These deity portraits use a specialized 'sketch' technique that requires intense focus and precision, taking roughly 60 to 90 minutes for a single palm. Because of the density of the shading, I always suggest keeping your hands away from water for at least 8 to 10 hours after application to let the color settle deeply into the skin.
When you choose a deity portrait, you are not just getting a pattern; you are inviting a piece of divine energy onto your hands. My process for these designs is different from standard bridal mehandi. I treat each palm like a canvas, using a fine-tipped cone to capture the intricate ornaments, expressions, and clothing folds of the figures.
My Approach to Deity Art
- The Sketch Technique: I use high-precision shading to create a hyper-realistic effect. This is why these designs look more like a tattoo or a sketch than traditional Indian mehandi fillers.
- Devotional Focus: Whether it is a Shreenathji portrait for a home pooja, a Shiva-Parvati depiction for Mahashivratri, or a Ram-Sita scene for a wedding, I ensure the proportions are balanced and the ornaments are detailed.
- Customization: You can request a specific deity that holds meaning for your family or a particular festival. I often incorporate Sanskrit shlokas or your chosen mantras in the border or around the figure to make it more personal.
Planning Your Appointment
For weddings, I recommend booking these portraits well in advance. Since these take longer than standard designs, we should factor this time into your overall bridal mehandi schedule. If you are planning a destination wedding in Chandigarh or Surat, please let me know early so I can manage my travel and kit accordingly.
I prefer to use 100% natural henna for these pieces. Not only does it provide a deeper, richer stain that makes the portraits pop, but it is also safer for longer sitting times. If you have a specific reference image or a deity that isn't listed here, feel free to share it when we chat.
Anupama's Mehandi
Namaste, I am Anupama. For me, henna is a form of prayer and my way of sharing blessings. I don't just draw figures; I feel the presence of the divine in every stroke I make, whether it is a small Ganesha or a full Shreenathji portrait.
