About Newborn & Family Portraits
These sessions are led by your baby's needs, not a clock. I block out four hours for each newborn session to allow ample time for feeding, soothing, and ensuring your little one is perfectly comfortable before we even pick up the camera. Whether we are posing a newborn with their older siblings or capturing that quiet, protective embrace of a new parent, the focus is always on patience and keeping your baby settled in a safe, temperature-controlled environment.
My Approach to Family Portraits
I believe the most powerful images are the quiet ones. When I photograph families, I look for the way a big sister touches her new sibling’s hand or how a parent holds their baby close to their chest. It is not about perfect, stiff posing. It is about capturing the raw, gentle love that fills your home during these early weeks.
Why a Dedicated Studio Session
My Gurgaon studio in Sector 66 is designed to be a sanctuary. It is not just about the lighting or the backdrop; it is a space where you can exhale. I provide everything you might need for the shoot—from luxury wraps and handmade bonnets for the baby to elegant gowns for mothers. You do not need to worry about props or styling; I handle the setup so you can focus entirely on being present with your family.
Safety and The 'Womb Posing' Technique
As a Canon EOS Maestro, I treat newborn photography with technical precision, but my priority is always your baby's physical comfort. I utilize specialized 'womb posing' techniques that mimic the security of the womb, keeping the baby calm and comfortable. This involves advanced, safety-first positioning that requires a dedicated assistant to spot at all times. Whether it is a solo newborn shot in a basket or a family portrait, safety is the foundation of every image I create.
Planning Your Session
I recommend scheduling your session for when your baby is between 5 and 15 days old. This is the window where they are most comfortable staying in the sleepy, curled-up positions that look so beautiful on camera. If you have older children, we incorporate them naturally, letting them interact with the baby in their own time, which leads to the most authentic and emotive sibling portraits.
