Under the Stars: Sangeet & Cocktail Photography
When the sun goes down, the party truly begins. I love the chaos of a Sangeet night, and I make it my mission to be right in the middle of it to capture the energy.
The couple's grand entrance for their first dance, surrounded by dramatic smoke. A truly cinematic moment from their cocktail night.
It's hard to fit a rager like this into 30 seconds, but this reel gives you a glimpse of the incredible energy at this cocktail night.

About Under the Stars
Shooting sangeets and cocktail nights is about managing unpredictable light and high-speed dance floor movement. Instead of asking you to pose, I move through the crowd to catch genuine reactions during performances and the wildest moments of the after-party. You get sharp, candid images that feel like the night did, not stiff, staged shots.
Capturing the Energy
A Sangeet or Cocktail night is a different beast entirely. You have dramatic lighting, high-speed movement, and an entire room of people letting their guard down. My approach isn't about setting up lights that blind your guests. I prefer working with the existing ambiance to keep the mood authentic and cinematic.
Whether it is a choreographed performance that took weeks to perfect or the unplanned madness of the dance floor, I am there to document it all. I look for the fleeting interactions: the groom stealing a glance at the bride during her dance, the dad cracking up in the corner, or the sheer adrenaline of the final dance set.
The Practical Side
When planning your Sangeet coverage, remember that these events are often the most demanding for a photographer. Because I shoot in a documentary style, I am not limited to the stage. I am in the mix, which means my team and I need to be agile.
- Lighting: We handle low-light environments without relying on jarring flash setups that kill the mood.
- Movement: From slow-motion portraits to high-shutter-speed dance shots, we adjust to your pace.
- Timing: I recommend ensuring your main performances happen early enough to capture them while everyone is fresh, but I stay until the party winds down to get those final, uninhibited moments.
If you are worried about your venue lighting or have a specific flow for your Sangeet performances, let me know. We can plan the coverage to ensure we don't miss the high-energy highlights.
