I handle all the styling myself, from your outfits to the prop selection. Whether you want to incorporate family heirlooms like a grandmother’s saree or prefer my signature painterly studio wardrobe, we plan the color palette and mood beforehand so the result feels like a cohesive painting rather than a casual snapshot.
My approach to family photography is rooted in my history as a painter and architect. I don't just photograph a family; I compose an image. We work together to ensure your family's connection is the focal point, using lighting, texture, and carefully selected outfits that stand the test of time.
The Process
Every session begins with a consultation where we discuss your preferences. Do you want the soft, airy vibe of my studio in Jakkur, or a more dramatic, mythological theme? I provide access to my collection of gowns, vintage rompers, and accessories, which helps keep the aesthetic consistent and truly fine-art quality. If you have a specific family heirloom, like a special piece of jewelry or a traditional outfit, bring it along. These items ground the photos in your personal history, making the final result more than just a picture.
Why Painterly Portraits?
Unlike standard photography, I edit each image individually to introduce painterly textures and tones. This requires time and focus, which is why I limit the number of sessions I take each month. I want to ensure every family receives the same level of attention to detail, whether we are capturing a milestone birthday, the bond between siblings, or a quiet parent-child moment.
We can shoot indoors at my studio, which offers controlled lighting and my full wardrobe collection, or we can head outdoors to a curated nature location. We will plan the timing to catch the best light, ensuring your family looks natural and relaxed in front of the lens.
