Tales of India: Mythological Portraits

I weave our rich culture into painterly portraits, transforming your little ones into figures from our beloved stories. These are not just photoshoots, they are elaborately styled, artistic productions for your home.

A mother and her little one recreating the iconic bond of Yashoda and Krishna. This painterly portrait, with its rich colors and emotional depth, is a perfect example of a fine art mythological session.

The mischievous glance of a baby Krishna, complete with a peacock feather and a touch of butter. This video shows the character and detail I bring to each Janmashtami themed child portrait.

A beautiful baby girl styled as Radha, surrounded by peacock feathers and traditional elements. I use vibrant colors and authentic props to create a rich, story-filled portrait.

The joy of a mother and son during a 'Natkhat Krishna' session. This video captures the smiles and playful interactions that make these cultural photoshoots so special and memorable.

A complete family portrait from a Krishna-themed session. The father, mother, and child come together in a beautifully composed frame that tells a story of love, faith, and family.

A baby styled as Krishna, sitting by a painted lotus pond. My background as a painter allows me to create these unique, artistic backdrops that transport you into a mythological world.

The infectious smile of a little Krishna, ready for some mischief. These sessions are perfect for babies aged 4-11 months, capturing their playful spirit in a culturally rich setting.

About this collection

These sessions are far more than a simple costume change. I hand-edit every single frame myself to achieve that soft, painterly texture you see, ensuring the final image looks like a classic canvas rather than a digital snap. We use authentic props like brass pots and fresh flowers, and I personally guide you on styling using your own heirloom Kanchivaram sarees to make the final portrait feel like a genuine piece of your family's history.

My approach to these mythological shoots is grounded in my background as an artist and architect. When you book a 'Tales of India' session, you are not getting a generic, AI-generated background. You are getting a meticulously composed scene where I treat every detail as a layer in a painting.

The Artistic Process

I do not believe in mass-production. Photography is only the first step; the magic happens in the editing. I work on the lighting, the textures, and the color tones by hand to ensure the final result is timeless. I specifically look to include your family heirlooms—perhaps your mother’s Kanchivaram saree or traditional temple jewelry—because these items carry the emotional weight that makes a portrait feel real.

Why Mythology?

We grow up with these stories, and there is something uniquely joyful about seeing a child as a 'Natkhat Krishna' or a little Radha. It captures a fleeting stage of childhood that you will want to look back on forever. I find the 4 to 11-month age range is often the most expressive for these setups, but I have created beautiful portraits for children up to two years old as well.

The Experience

Whether we focus on the Yashoda-Krishna bond or a playful solo session, the goal is always the same: to create a piece of art for your wall. If you value authentic, soul-stirring portraits over quick snapshots, we will be a great fit. I limit the number of sessions I take each month so that I can pour my full attention into your family's story. Let's create something meaningful that your family will treasure for generations.

I am an architect, a painter, and a mother, and I channel all of that into these portraits. I do not believe in mass-producing photos; I believe in slowing down to create art that freezes a piece of our culture for your family to keep forever.
