These aren't static car shoots. I bring these vintage machines out into the chaos of South Bombay or against a rain-soaked backdrop, focusing on the specific textures—the chrome grille, the worn leather, the way light hits a classic fender—to make the car feel like a living character in the city’s ongoing story.
Vintage automobiles carry the weight of a different era, and shooting them in Mumbai creates a beautiful visual friction. My approach is to avoid the clean, sterile studio environment. Instead, I frame these cars where they truly belong: on the textured, living streets of SoBo, parked against the weathered Art Deco facades, or gleaming under the grey sky of a monsoon afternoon.
Why I focus on the details
It is about the small things. The way the light catches the emblem on a Mercedes-Benz grille, the tactile feel of an old Fiat’s steering wheel, or the pattern of a whitewall tire against the asphalt. These are the elements that bring out the car's true personality. I treat the vehicle as a subject with its own history to tell.
My Process
I shoot primarily with Sony Alpha systems, preferring natural light to capture the mood accurately. Whether it is a half-day session focusing on portraits of the vehicle or a full-day campaign that includes movement and environmental shots, my goal remains the same: a cinematic look that feels authentic. I don't just want to take a photo of a car; I want to document a ride back in time. Let’s find the right light and the right street corner to show off your machine.
