Cinematic Automotive Photography and Car Films in Mumbai
I see cars as characters with their own stories to tell. From vintage classics against Mumbai’s heritage arches to modern machines on rain-slicked streets, I shoot visuals that make vehicles feel larger than life.
This is a dynamic commercial I shot for the Ather 450x electric scooter. We focused on capturing its sleek design and smooth performance against the urban backdrop of Mumbai, creating a high-energy film that feels both modern and exhilarating.
A bright red Porsche 718 Boxster parked in front of the ornate arches of a heritage building in South Bombay. The contrast between the modern sports car and the classic architecture is striking.
Another angle of the red Porsche, this time showing it parked next to a Starbucks in the same historic building. It’s a great example of the modern-classic blend found in Mumbai.
A beautifully maintained vintage green Morris Minor on the streets of South Bombay. Capturing these classic cars feels like stepping back in time.
A powerful Dodge Challenger muscle car on a quiet street in Mumbai. The warm lighting and classic architecture in the background make the car stand out even more.
A classic Premier Padmini, once a staple of Mumbai's streets, parked in a bylane. These cars have so much character and tell a story of the city's past.
The iconic 'kaali-peeli' Premier Padmini taxi in motion. This shot captures a piece of Mumbai's identity against the backdrop of its beautiful old buildings.
About this collection
I don't just point a camera at metal; I treat every vehicle as a lead character in a movie. Whether it’s a vintage Premier Padmini parked against a South Bombay heritage arch or an electric scooter filmed under soft monsoon light, I scout locations that ground the car in its environment rather than using a sterile studio. If you have a specific vibe or location in mind, let’s chat about what your vehicle’s story really is.
More Than Just Steel and Chrome
Photography is often about the machine, but my process is about the mood. I combine professional camera work with techniques usually reserved for feature films—think anamorphic lenses for that cinematic widescreen look and drone shots to capture the car in motion against city backdrops.
The Process
- Location Scouting: A car's personality changes with its setting. I work with you to pick a backdrop that complements the vehicle’s design language, whether it’s the grit of a Mumbai bylane or the polished look of a coastal highway.
- Lighting and Weather: I’m a sucker for the Mumbai monsoon. The wet asphalt and diffused clouds create a natural softbox effect that makes colors pop. If you want a moody, teal and orange graded look, we shoot during the golden hour or under the city lights.
- Gear: I utilize a mix of mirrorless rigs for crisp detail and gimbals for smooth, tracking shots that make the car look like it's gliding.
Why This Approach?
Because a static photo is one thing, but a film that shows the power and elegance of your ride is another. I’ve worked with brands like Ather Energy to turn product launches into cinematic moments, and I apply that same energy to private car owners. Whether you are selling the vehicle, showcasing a modification, or simply want a piece of art for your collection, my goal is to give your car a personality that sticks in the viewer's memory.
Avinash
Cars to me are personalities on wheels. I spend hours scouting the right Mumbai street or monsoon-soaked lane to make sure your machine looks like the star of its own film.
