Dynamic Panel Moderation
Stop settling for rigid Q&A sessions. I turn your panel discussions into high-energy, insightful conversations that actually keep your audience hooked.
As a moderator, I love asking questions that spark unexpected and insightful answers. Here's a clip from my TEDx conversation with Pragya Jaiswal, where we delved into career plot twists.
Moderating a one-on-one session with Parul Gulati. My focus is to create a natural, conversational flow, making it feel less like an interview and more like a chat the audience is part of.
In deep conversation with Gaurav Taneja at the IIT Bombay E-Cell event. Moderating panels with industry icons requires asking the right questions to uncover valuable insights for the audience.
Confidence is key! This fun moment from 'Peg Pe Charcha' shows how I use humor to interact with panelists, revealing their personalities and creating a lively and entertaining discussion.
The art of moderation is in listening intently. Here, during the TEDx talk, I'm fully engaged with Pragya Jaiswal's story, which allows me to ask relevant follow-up questions.
"What is the absolute best thing about being an actor?" Simple questions can lead to profound answers. This clip from the TEDx panel shows a moment of genuine reflection from Pragya Jaiswal.
A wide view of my fireside chat with Parul Gulati at the Global Youth Economic Summit. The setup is designed for an intimate conversation, and my moderation style complements that.
"Aapko nahaate waqt kaunse ideas aate hain?" A cheeky question during the 'Peg Pe Charcha' panel that broke the ice and had the whole room, including the directors, laughing out loud.
A great panel discussion involves active listening and non-verbal cues. Here, both Pragya and I are fully immersed in the conversation at the TEDx event.
Setting the stage for the theme reveal at the TEDx event. As a moderator, I also guide the narrative of the event, ensuring each segment transitions smoothly.
About Dynamic Panel Moderation
Most moderators just read from a list of submitted questions, but that kills the vibe. Before I start, I hunt for the one thing your panelists haven't been asked yet. That is where the real conversation begins. I am there to steer the ship, not just hold the mic, making sure the session flows naturally even when things get heated.
A boring panel is a wasted opportunity. My goal is to break the fourth wall. When I host a session, I focus on two things: keeping the panelists comfortable and the audience awake.
My approach to moderation
Research-First I do not just read the provided brief. I research your guest speakers to find the 'why' behind their achievements. This allows me to steer the conversation toward stories that have not been told yet. It turns a standard interview into a discovery.
Managing Dynamics Whether I am with industry CEOs or youth icons, I keep the hierarchy out of the conversation. I facilitate dialogue where speakers challenge each other, making the session feel like a genuine exchange of ideas rather than a scripted lecture.
Crisis Control I have a background in live stage management. If a panelist goes off-track or we hit a technical glitch, I do not panic. I use improvisation to keep the energy up until we are back on schedule.
I have moderated for platforms like TEDx and IIT Bombay’s E-Cell, handling everything from tech summits to media conclaves. Whether it is a 30-minute fireside chat or a 2-hour technical deep-dive, I ensure the flow is seamless, the content is sharp, and the audience remains fully engaged.
Aman Malhotra
I am Aman. I treat every panel like a story, not a list of questions to tick off. I do the deep prep so that when I am on stage, I can actually listen to the answers instead of just waiting for my next turn to speak.
