Handmade Workshops & Artisan Experiences in Bangalore
Rediscover the joy of haath ka kaam. From pottery to traditional Gond art, join our workshops to learn, create, and connect with master artisans across Bangalore.
This is what we’re all about: the pure joy of 'haath ka kaam' (handwork). Our artisan-led workshops are a place to connect, learn, and make something real. We offer a wide variety of sessions, from Lippan and Bhil art to hands-on pottery, so there is always something new to discover.
The energy at our festivals is something you have to feel to believe. This is a glimpse from our Monsoon Collective, where people of all ages come together to shop, learn, and celebrate the magic of handmade. It's a true community of makers and supporters.
We connect you with true masters of their craft, like 81-year-old Akbar Mirza Kagzi, a traditional paper maker from Rajasthan. In our workshops, you don't just learn a skill; you become part of a living legacy, hearing stories and learning techniques passed down through generations.
Find your focus, one dot at a time. Dot Mandala art is one of our most popular workshops for its meditative and calming qualities. This video shows the quiet, satisfying process of building intricate patterns, a practice you can learn and continue at home.
There's nothing quite like the feeling of shaping clay with your own hands. Our pottery workshops are perfect for beginners and families, offering a fun, hands-on introduction to the potter's wheel. You get to take home your very own creation.
We believe creativity has no age limit. It’s a joy to see our youngest participants, like this little artist, completely absorbed in painting. Our workshops are a safe and encouraging space for children to explore their imagination.
We are always excited to bring our collective of over 100 artisan groups to new parts of the city. Here I am, inviting everyone to our Monsoon Collective, where you can find everything from sarees and home decor to unique handicrafts and, of course, plenty of workshops.
Explore the rich visual language of India's tribal arts. This poster is for our Gond Painting workshop, where you can learn the distinctive patterns and storytelling techniques of this beautiful art form directly from a skilled karigar.
About Featured
When you sit at our pottery or painting stations, you are not just watching a demo; you are getting your hands dirty with real materials. Whether you are shaping raw clay or learning dotting techniques, you leave with a finished piece you made yourself, not a generic souvenir. It is a genuine pause from the city rush.
Our workshops are built on a simple idea: everyone has a creator inside them, they just need the right space to let it out. We believe in the healing power of working with your hands, which we call haath ka kaam.
We bring master artisans from across India to Bangalore, not just to teach, but to share their life stories and heritage. You might find us at Forum South Bengaluru or NIFT, running everything from intensive sessions to quick drop-in activities.
What to Expect
- Artisan-Led Guidance: You are learning from lineage artists who have practiced these forms for generations. Whether it is Gond art, Bhil painting, or blue pottery, you gain insight into the tradition behind the technique.
- Tiered Experiences: We offer short 'Make & Take' sessions for those wanting a quick try, like kite making or basic pottery, lasting 15 to 30 minutes. If you want to go deeper, our traditional folk art and specialty workshops range from 45 to over 60 minutes.
- A Relaxed Environment: These are not rigid classrooms. They are open, communal spaces where you can bring friends or family, make a mess, laugh, and walk away with a skill and a physical object you created.
We are here to spotlight the karigars (artisans) and keep their legacy alive, not to sell mass-produced kits. When you join us, you are supporting the livelihood of the makers we represent. Come ready to learn, and leave with a little more calm than you arrived with.
