Flexibility and Spinal Health Classes
A healthy spine is a flexible spine. Join my live online sessions to stretch, strengthen, and find sukoon in every movement.
My philosophy is to move *ahista, ahista* (slowly, slowly). This video shows the gentle and mindful entry into Ustrasana, or Camel Pose. It's a deep heart-opening stretch that improves spinal flexibility and posture, reminding us to be patient with our bodies.
The bridge pose is not just for strength; it is also a wonderful exercise for spinal articulation. As we lift and lower the hips one vertebra at a time, we increase awareness and mobility in the spine, which is essential for long-term back health.
About Flexibility & Spinal Health
In these sessions, we work ahista, ahista (slowly, slowly). My focus is not on deep, aggressive stretching, but on controlled, intentional movements that safely mobilize your spine and strengthen the supporting core muscles. Whether you are dealing with stiffness from sitting all day or just want to move better, these exercises are about finding relief and building strength from the inside out, without the need for fancy equipment.
Building a Healthier Spine
Many of us spend hours at a desk, which often leads to tightness in the shoulders, neck, and lower back. My Mat Pilates sessions are specifically designed to counteract this. We focus on spinal articulation and core engagement, which are the two pillars of back health. By moving with intention, we gently release tension in the muscles that hold your spine, helping you move with more ease in your daily life.
The Ahista Approach
I believe in progress, not perfection. In our group sessions, we do not force our bodies into shapes that cause pain. Instead, we learn to listen to the breath and the muscles. This approach is what I call ahista, ahista. It is a commitment to consistency that prevents injury and encourages sustainable improvement. Whether you are a complete beginner or returning to fitness after a long break, this method allows you to meet your body where it is today.
Why Practice Online?
Practicing from the comfort of your home removes the stress of travel. In my live sessions, you get the benefit of a group atmosphere while I maintain small enough class sizes to provide verbal corrections. I guide you through each move, ensuring your alignment is safe. All you need is a 6x4 ft space and a standard mat to begin this journey toward a more flexible and resilient you.
