Building Power and Stamina for Table Tennis
Want to last through those long, intense rallies? We build 'Raftaar'—speed and explosive power—right here at the academy, so you can dominate the table with confidence.
This montage shows a typical conditioning session, including outdoor runs for stamina, jump squats for explosive leg power, and skipping for cardiovascular fitness and footwork rhythm.
A strong core is non-negotiable. Here, my students are doing synchronized push-ups to build upper body and core strength, followed by skipping to keep their heart rate up and improve coordination.
Player Ada Gupta demonstrates some of our key conditioning exercises. She performs step-ups to build leg power for a stable stance and skips to improve her overall fitness and foot speed.
About Building Power and Stamina
We don't just stand around at the table. To hit harder and move faster than your opponent, we use specific plyometrics and agility drills, like skipping and ladder work, that directly transfer to your game. It is tough work, but the results show up in your next tournament match.
At Ping Pong Academy, we treat fitness like a sport itself. You cannot build 'Raftaar' (speed) just by playing matches. You need targeted, explosive training.
Our conditioning sessions at Haridham Mandir are broken down by what you need to fix:
- Speed & Agility: We use ladders and cones to force your feet to move faster. If your brain sees the ball but your feet are stuck, you lose the point. We fix that.
- Explosive Power: We do plyometrics, jump squats, and core circuits. This is not gym-style bodybuilding; it is functional strength for table tennis players to smash harder and recover faster.
- Stamina: Long tournaments in Delhi are brutal. We use skipping and shuttle runs to build the engine that lets you play your fifth match of the day with the same power as your first.
We keep the groups tight at our GTB Nagar hall. Whether you are a 4-year-old starting out or a competitive player aiming for state rankings, the intensity matches your goal. You will get tired and you will sweat, but you will walk away knowing you are faster than you were yesterday.
