When I shoot a burger or a freshly baked pizza, I prioritize catching that precise moment, whether it is the steam rising or the cheese pull, before the heat dissipates and the ingredients lose their luster. I handle the styling myself, ensuring the garnishes and layers are positioned to emphasize volume and freshness, so your menu images look exactly like the real thing.
Great food photography is about more than just a camera. It is about understanding the subject, especially when working with fast food. Pizzas, burgers, and sandwiches are notorious for wilting or cooling down quickly. My process involves setting up the lighting and composition first, so when the food is ready, we are ready to capture it immediately.
I use a Nikon Z8 combined with pro-grade lighting to highlight specific details. For a pizza, this means bringing out the char on the crust and the gloss on the melted cheese. For a burger, I focus on the layers, ensuring the patty, fresh lettuce, and sauces are all clearly visible and appetizing.
