Shooting in places like Spiti isn't just about having a camera; it is about handling the altitude and the weather. I pack light with the Sony A7IV and DJI Mini 3 Pro because you need mobility when you are trekking to reach hidden ridges. I don't just shoot; I scout locations, wait for the perfect light, and handle the tricky flight conditions so you get those cinematic aerial shots without any drama.
The Himalayas require a different approach. You cannot rely on studio setups or massive crews here. When I am shooting in Kinnaur or the Pin Valley, my focus is on capturing the scale of the landscape and the rhythm of life at high altitudes.
The Gear and The Grind
My setup is designed for the road: the Sony A7IV for those sharp, high-resolution stills and the DJI Mini 3 Pro for aerial work. Aerial cinematography in the mountains is unforgiving. High winds and thin air are real constraints, and my experience with drone rules and flight maneuvers ensures we get the shot safely. Whether it is a reveal shot over the Chicham Bridge or a top-down view of a village, the drone is my primary tool to show the sheer scale of the region.

I look for the 'vibe' of a place—not just the tourist spots. I want the sunrise hitting the peaks near Kedarnath, the textures of frozen waterfalls, or the stars over Kaza. My style is about candid storytelling.
