High-Altitude Aerial Photography for Mountains and Valleys
I use my drone to capture the quiet scale of Ladakh and Uttarakhand. From snow-dusted peaks to remote valley settlements, I show you the mountains as I see them.
An aerial view of a town in Ladakh as dusk settles, with lights beginning to glow in the valley. This shot captures the quiet beauty of human settlement nestled amongst the towering, barren mountains of the Himalayas.
This drone video provides a close-up, orbiting view of the colossal Guru Padmasambhava statue at Shey Palace, Ladakh. The footage reveals the statue's vibrant colors and intricate details, set against the backdrop of the stark Himalayan mountains.

About High-Altitude Horizons
Flying a drone at high altitudes requires more than just a steady hand; the air is thin and batteries drain faster than in the city. I plan my flights around the golden hour when the light hits the peaks, ensuring we get that crisp, 4K shot before the temperature drops and the wind picks up.
The Himalayas demand respect, and my approach to aerial photography reflects that. Whether I am navigating the valleys of Ladakh or capturing the snow-dusted ridges of Uttarakhand, the goal is to show the immense scale of these landscapes while retaining the human element.
My Process
I use professional DJI drones equipped with ND filters to manage the intense glare of the sun at high altitudes. This allows me to capture smooth, cinematic motion blur, which is often missing in amateur aerial shots. I prioritize early morning and late evening slots, as these times provide the best natural light and atmospheric clarity for high-altitude landscape photography.
What to Expect
For outstation expeditions, I offer full-day coverage, allowing for split shifts to catch both sunrise and sunset. You get the raw 4K footage, which is essential for professional post-production, along with vertically edited social media reels. My experience includes piloting in snow and high-altitude terrain, ensuring safety in challenging environments.
If you are planning a project in the mountains, let us talk about the specific logistics. The gear, the weather, and the light all play a part, and I ensure every aspect is accounted for to deliver professional mountain videography and Himalayan drone shots.
