Authentic Portrait Photography and Directing Mentorship
Stop worrying about the pose and start focusing on the story. I teach how to move past stiff, over-edited shots and find the real vibe in your portraits.
If your model shots feel boring, it's often because there's no story. I teach you how to move beyond just clicking and start directing with intent. We'll work on building a narrative and communicating with your model to bring out genuine emotion.
This is where many photographers freeze. I'll teach you how to direct models with simple, clear instructions that create natural, emotional portraits instead of stiff, awkward poses. We focus on storytelling through movement and expression.
Are your edits looking plastic? I'll show you my realistic photo editing workflow in Photoshop, focusing on natural color grading and exposure adjustments. My goal is to enhance the photo, not create a fake, over-edited version of your subject.
About My Teaching Approach: Real Talk for Real Photographers
My teaching is not about theory that sits in a textbook. If you join my field session, we spend the time actually shooting on the streets of Mumbai, experimenting with light sources and directing a real subject. You will learn to control a single flash or catch natural light for cinematic moods, while I show you how to break the ice so your subject forgets the camera is even there.
Whether you are struggling with flat, lifeless images or just stuck in an endless loop of over-editing, the problem usually is not your gear. It is the story. In my sessions, we peel back the layers of a shot to see why it works, or why it fails.
Why Plastic Edits Are Hurting You
I see so many photographers smoothing out skin until every bit of character vanishes. My editing workflow is about enhancement, not replacement. During our sessions, I will show you how to work with Photoshop curves and split toning to get that cinematic, moody look while keeping real skin texture. It is not about presets. It is about understanding the logic of light and color.
Directing: The Real Skill
Most people think photography is just pressing the button. The real work happens in the minutes before that. I teach you how to give simple, clear instructions that replace awkward posing with natural movement. We will cover:
- Natural Light Control: Using shadows and window light for drama.
- Flash Setup: How a single continuous light or direct flash can elevate a basic portrait.
- Field Confidence: Navigating crowded locations in Mumbai to find the perfect frame.
This is not a lecture. It is a collaborative process where we look at your portfolio, find the gaps, and fix them. If you are serious about photography being ishq hai and want to shoot 'hoomans' instead of mannequins, let us get to work.
