Elegant Arabic & Floral Mehndi Designs
Arabic mehndi is all about flowing vines and balanced negative space. Whether you want these designs for your event or want to learn the technique yourself, I can help you master the art.
A classic Arabic floral vine design. I teach how to create the illusion of depth and dimension using shading and varied line thickness, which is key to this style.
This two-hand Arabic design shows how to create patterns that are not identical but complementary. This is an important design principle for creating balanced, artistic looks.
About Elegant Arabic & Floral Styles
The beauty of Arabic henna lies in its bold outlines and the way it uses negative space. While it often looks lighter than traditional bridal work, achieving those delicate, flowing vine patterns requires perfect control of your cone pressure to keep the lines crisp and the shading consistent.
I focus heavily on teaching the logic behind these designs rather than just having students copy patterns. Arabic and floral styles are actually the best place to start if you are learning. Because they rely on individual elements like paisleys, scallops, and free-flowing trails rather than dense, interconnected grids, they are perfect for building muscle memory.
What I Teach
In my offline classes at my New Guruppan Palya studio, we start with the 'Bel' (trail) that moves from the finger to the wrist. I show you how to vary your line thickness to create depth and dimension. We also cover shading tricks that make floral petals look realistic. My goal is for you to walk away knowing how to build a design from scratch, not just memorize one specific layout.
My Services
If you are looking for a service rather than a class, I bring these same techniques to your events. Arabic styles are my go-to for festivals like Eid or Karva Chauth and for party guests who want something elegant but not as heavy as full-arm bridal henna. If you are interested in booking a session or joining my next batch of students, send me a message and we can chat about what you need.
Aliya
Hi, I'm Aliya. Mehndi is my world, and there is nothing quite as satisfying as watching a fresh Arabic vine design come to life. I love teaching these styles because they are perfect for beginners to learn control and for clients who want something elegant yet light.
