Creative & Conceptual Dance Shoots
Dance is my way of connecting with art, whether it is on a grand stage or in a quiet, natural setting. Here, I combine Bharatanatyam with creative storytelling to capture visuals that feel like art in motion.
A concept shoot I choreographed and performed in, inspired by the song 'Namaami Namaami'. We used the stunning backdrop of a white temple to complement the grace of Bharatanatyam.
A cherished memory from a special photoshoot. This image captures a moment of dance against an ancient temple wall, blending the art form with its historic roots.
A modeling shoot for an apparel brand, where I could bring my dance expressions to the forefront. The yellow 'Manjal' saree and the natural setting created a vibrant, earthy feel.
Modeling a beautiful half saree for a design studio. Shoots like this allow me to explore how traditional attire and classical dance poses can come together to create timeless images.
A short, expressive video from a morning photoshoot. It's a joy to blend the art of dance with cinematography to create these little visual poems.
Another shot from my sunset dance session at the beach. The silhouette against the waves and the setting sun creates a dramatic and soulful image.
A close up from the 'Manjal' saree shoot, focusing on the hand gestures, or 'mudras', of Bharatanatyam. Every detail, from the expression to the fingertips, tells a story.
About this collection
When we plan these shoots, the most important thing is finding the right location that matches the mood of your track. Whether it is an ancient temple backdrop or a quiet beach at sunset, I help you select the outfit and refine your mudras so the final frame feels like a painting rather than just a pose.
Blending Tradition with Visual Art
For me, creative and conceptual shoots are not just about wearing a costume and standing still. It is about taking the nuances of Bharatanatyam—the storytelling, the hand gestures (mudras), and the abhinaya (expressions)—and placing them in a setting that amplifies the emotion. I love working with brands and photographers who want to push the boundaries of what classical dance can look like in modern visuals.
How We Can Collaborate
Whether you are a brand looking for authentic ethnic modeling or a photographer wanting to capture the geometry of classical dance, I bring a structured yet flexible approach to the shoot:
- Story & Concept: We start with the mood. Is it a film-inspired video? A devotional portrait? Or perhaps a fashion-forward look for a half-saree collection? I help draft the visual narrative.
- Styling & Detail: Costume matters. I have experience working with temple jewelry and heavy silk sarees, and I can advise on how to drape and carry them so they flow perfectly during movement.
- Technical Precision: Even in a 'relaxed' shoot, the form matters. I ensure your posture, eye lines, and hand angles remain sharp, keeping the grace of the dance intact.
Why Location Matters
I believe the environment is a silent partner in the dance. We can shoot at historic heritage sites, quiet temple corridors in and around Bengaluru, or open outdoor spaces that catch the golden hour light. Let us create something timeless that blends my roots in Bharatanatyam with your creative vision. ✨
