About Hand-Painted Terracotta
When I work on these pots, I start by sanding the surface to get that perfect smooth finish before applying the primer. It is the most time-consuming part, but it makes sure the fluid acrylics do not crack or peel, even if you use them for live indoor plants.
Every pot I create follows a strict process to ensure it does not just look good but stays that way. After sanding and applying a gesso primer to the raw terracotta, I paint using high-grade acrylics. Whether you want an intricate Warli pattern, a traditional mandala, or bold, modern boho-chic abstracts, the finish remains consistent.
Because terracotta is a naturally porous material, I seal the inside if you plan on using these for live indoor plants like succulents or money plants. The exterior gets a clear varnish coating to protect against UV fading and water spills. These are not factory-made, so they hold the slight, organic imperfections of hand-molded clay.
