Custom Polymer Clay Miniatures
I sculpt tiny worlds from polymer clay, from realistic food replicas to festive idols. Each piece is hand-crafted and oven-baked to be a lasting keepsake for your home.
This miniature sculpture of a South Indian dosa on a banana leaf is one of my favorite pieces. I use specialized tools to get the texture of the dosa and the details of the chutneys just right. It is a celebration of food and culture in miniature form.
This video gives a behind-the-scenes look at my miniature sculpting process. You can see me working with polymer clay and fine tools to shape different food items, including a tiny pizza and the dosa platter. The focus required is intense, but the result is always rewarding.
My miniature Ganesha idols are a popular choice for festive home decor. Here, you can see a custom gold-finished Ganesha I sculpted, placed on a desk to create a small, personal altar space for the Gowri Ganesha festival.
About Custom Clay Miniatures
When I work with polymer clay, it is all about the tiny details. Whether I am sculpting the specific grain of a dosa or the delicate features of a Ganesha idol, I rely on precision needle tools and chalk pastels to build the texture. Because these are oven-baked rather than air-dried, they stay rigid and water-resistant, making them sturdy enough to be used as fridge magnets or keychains without losing their finish.
Polymer clay is unique because it offers a level of permanence that other materials simply cannot match. After I hand-sculpt every element—from the individual texture of a rice grain to the smooth glaze on a miniature Ganesha—I cure them in a dedicated oven. This curing process is not just about hardening; it ensures the piece is water-resistant and durable.
Many of my clients reach out for specific festive decor, particularly for Gowri Ganesha. Having a tiny, hand-painted idol for your desk or window sill adds a personalized touch to traditional celebrations without requiring large altar space. I also enjoy creating food replicas, like South Indian meals on banana leaves, which serve as excellent, conversation-starting fridge magnets.
I work on a scale of 3cm to 8cm. Because of the materials used, these items are perfect for gifting. Whether it is a replica of a favorite family meal or a small festive token, I seal every piece with a specialized varnish. I use glossy varnish for food items to give them that fresh look, and matte varnish for idols to maintain a serene, earthy aesthetic. If you have a specific idea in mind, let me know, and we can discuss the feasibility of the sculpt.
