About Individual Portraits
When you commission a portrait, you get the choice of how it reaches you. I can ship your portrait ready-to-hang with a synthetic wood frame, or rolled up if you prefer to frame it locally later. Each painting is finished with a non-yellowing protective varnish to shield those fine details from dust and UV rays for years to come.
Every painting I create in my studio starts with a simple goal: to make a memory feel more real. Whether you want to preserve a childhood look, honor a family elder, or simply have a piece of art that reflects your style, I paint with a focus on depth and expression.
My Process
I work from photographs to create a realistic oil painting on fine-grain cotton canvas. If you have an old or faded photo, I can often restore the clarity and color vibrancy through the painting process. I specialize in intricate details like the texture of traditional Indian clothing, jewelry, and individual facial features that make a person recognizable.
Customization & Details
- Size Options: I create portraits ranging from standard A3-sized (12"x16") up to gallery-scale statements (30"x40").
- Backgrounds: We can stick to the original background from your photo, or I can paint a custom setting—like a soft bokeh effect or a scenic backdrop—to focus the attention solely on the subject.
- Quality: I use professional-grade oil paints on stretched canvas. For larger pieces, I use heavy-duty wooden stretcher bars with cross-bracing to prevent any warping over time.
Shipping & Handling
I pack every portrait with care to ensure it travels safely across India. My larger works are crated for protection, while smaller pieces are bubble-wrapped and reinforced.
