I design spaces that respond to our climate and heritage. Here is a selection of my work that bridges the gap between built and unbuilt space in Bengaluru.

This is the 'House of Greens', a project that truly embodies my design philosophy. It was an honor to see it recognized as a finalist at the World Architecture Festival, a testament to our goal of creating homes that are one with nature.

The heart of the 'House of Greens' is this double-height living space. By using large windows and an open layout, we dissolved the barrier between indoors and outdoors, creating a pavilion that is constantly in dialogue with the garden.

The 'House Belaku' is a celebration of light and material. The brick jali screen is not just a design element; it's a functional skin that filters sunlight, ensures privacy, and creates a dynamic play of light and shadow throughout the day.

In this presentation on the 'House of Greens', I share the story behind the design. I explain how we drew inspiration from Bangalore's history as the "Garden City" to create a home that feels like a personal sanctuary, connected to nature at every level.

This is an aerial view of the Shiva Shakti Dham temple complex in Hubli. Tackling a project of this scale was a humbling experience, where we focused on master planning a spiritual journey that respects tradition while creating a serene environment for thousands of devotees.

The concept for the award-winning 'Brick Weave House' was inspired by the memory of traditional weaving. We translated this metaphor into an architectural form, creating a unique parametric brick facade that weaves together heritage and modern design.

This is a view from within the 'Plastreen' installation, looking up at the sky. We created this structure from thousands of waste plastic bottles to raise public awareness about sustainability, contrasting the plastic waste on the outside with the living green wall inside.

About this collection

Look closely at the brickwork in these projects; it is not just aesthetic. I use parametric modeling to design these facades to filter harsh sunlight while maintaining privacy for your family. Behind every photograph in this gallery, there is a physical scale model we built to test light, shadow, and ventilation before a single brick was laid on site.

Architecture is rarely about just the final build. My practice is rooted in a collaborative design process that ignores cookie-cutter solutions.

My Design Philosophy

I believe in creating homes that breathe. Whether I am working on an urban residence in a dense neighborhood or a large-scale temple complex, the goal is the same: to dissolve the barrier between the indoors and the landscape. In my 'House of Greens' project, for instance, this meant framing views of neighboring trees to make the home feel like a part of the surrounding forest, rather than a separate structure.

The Role of Craft

I come from a family of sculptors, and that hands-on approach defines how I work. You will see this in my use of traditional materials like laterite and natural granite, combined with modern techniques. We do not just sketch; we use physical models to understand massing and sunlight.

What We Build Together

  • Biophilic & Parametric Architecture: I specialize in complex facades that act as a functional skin, providing cooling and shade.
  • Courtyard Homes: Drawing inspiration from traditional layouts, I integrate internal courtyards to bring light and air into the center of the home.
  • Master Planning: From private villas to institutional campuses, I look at the site holistically, managing everything from statutory approvals to contractor selection and site supervision.

My approach balances art with the economic reality of construction. Whether you have a tight plot or a vast site, we will find that intersection of function and form that makes a space truly yours.

I am Chandrakant, and my work is rooted in my history as a local sculptor. I do not build glass boxes; I design homes that honor the memory of Bengaluru as a Garden City. We sit together, sketch, and build until the space feels like a natural extension of your life.
