I am Sumesh, and this is the story of how my 1500 sq ft Bengaluru plot became a sanctuary. Beyond the plants, this is a journey of passion, family support, and learning to grow with nature.

It was a truly memorable day, a dream come true to deliver my first TEDx talk. This milestone is not just mine, it is ours, a celebration of my family's support.

Catch me in action on India's first farm reality show, 'Khet Khet Mein' on DD National. It was an incredible experience to be a part of.

A promo for the reality show 'Khet Khet Mein'. It was a challenging but rewarding experience that pushed me out of my comfort zone.

The official promo for 'Khet Khet Mein'. I am excited to share my passion for farming and gardening with a wider audience.

That happy and proud moment when my parents watched my episode on television. These priceless moments make all the hard work worth it.

Thank you to The Better India for featuring me in their article on 'Plant Influencers' to follow for your organic gardening journey.

I am grateful to be featured in today's Hindustan Times Brunch edition in this article about the new wave of plant parents.

About this collection

People often see the lush photos, but they do not see the years of mistakes. I have killed more plants than I can count, and that is exactly why I teach the way I do. I do not give you textbook theories. I show you the messy, real-life process of learning what works in our Bengaluru climate, from the soil mixes that actually hold nutrition to the specific container tricks that helped my balcony garden survive.

Growing an urban garden in Bengaluru is not about having a natural green thumb; it is about persistence. My journey began on a dry, standard 30x50 plot that looked nothing like the lush space you see in these images. Whether I am sharing our organic harvests, discussing my TEDx talk on sustainable living, or celebrating Onam with a Pookalam made from our own garden flowers, every milestone has been a group effort with my family.

When you browse through this gallery, you are seeing a timeline of trial and error. I have had compost bins that failed and seedlings that withered, but those mistakes gave me the practical knowledge to help you avoid the same pitfalls. I focus on container gardening that actually works for our local climate, choosing plants that thrive in our specific sunlight patterns rather than struggling against them.

We also talk about the deeper ecosystem. I do not just teach you how to grow vegetables; I show you how to attract birds, butterflies, and bees to your balcony. If you are curious about setting up rainwater harvesting or composting with whatever you have in your kitchen, I am happy to share the exact methods I use. Gardening is a long game. It is about slowing down, watching your plants grow, and eventually tasting the fruit from your own pots. Let us see what we can grow together.
