About Creative & Avant-Garde Portraits
Every creative shoot begins in my studio chair. Because I’m a makeup artist first, I prep your skin and build the concept on your face before we even touch the camera. We don’t rely on heavy filters; we use deliberate lighting, texture, and complex makeup techniques to create those surreal, avant-garde effects you see in these images.
In my 14 years of teaching and practicing, I’ve found that the best portraits happen when you stop trying to look standard and start trying to look interesting. My creative sessions in Domlur are built on that philosophy. We aren't just taking photos; we are designing a character from the ground up.
Whether it’s a celestial fantasy theme with intricate body paint, an illusion look that plays with shadow and geometry, or a high-fashion editorial piece, the process is always the same. You come in, we talk through the concept, and then we spend the time building the look from scratch.
The Process
Unlike standard studio headshots, these sessions require patience. We might spend two hours on the makeup alone—layering pigments, placing props, and ensuring the lighting creates the exact mood we want. You aren't just a subject; you are the canvas.
If you’re worried about whether you’re 'photogenic' enough, don’t be. My job is to guide the poses and adjust the lights to flatter the specific art we’ve created on your skin. These shoots are intense, artistic, and entirely yours.
