About The Vanderphool Collection: Nature-Inspired Couture
These are not digital prints. Every bird, bloom, and animal motif on these jackets is individually stitched by my tailors. Because we use light cotton-silk blends, you get the structure of a formal jacket without the heavy heat, which makes a significant difference when you are standing in the sun for an outdoor Mehendi or Haldi or Haldi ceremony.
Why Nature-Inspired?
Traditional wedding wear often gets heavy and rigid. With the Vanderphool collection, I wanted to create something that feels like an extension of the environment. Whether it is a spring wedding or a garden ceremony, these pieces are designed to help you stand out without being overdressed.
The Craft
I focus on what I call 'wearable art.' We use base fabrics like cotton-silk or linen-blends, which are chosen specifically for breathability. The embroidery is the main event here—we use varied threads to capture the texture of petals and the spirit of the animal motifs. You will notice that the embroidery is dense where it needs to be for structure and sparse where it needs to be for comfort.
Customization & Fit
This collection is flexible. If you like the motifs on one jacket but prefer the base color of another, we can make those adjustments. Since these are mostly for daytime events, I ensure the fit is slightly more relaxed than our evening sherwanis, allowing you to move, dance, or sit comfortably without worrying about the fabric pulling or bunching.
Where to find us
I invite you to visit our stores in Ghatkopar or Thane. Seeing these fabrics and the thread work in person is completely different from seeing them on a screen. You can try on the ready-to-wear blocks to check your size, or we can take your measurements for a custom set.
