Native Tree Plantations in Gurugram
Help us restore the Aravalli forest. Our Roots for Tomorrow drives are about planting native trees, learning about local biodiversity, and connecting with a community that cares about Gurugram’s green future.
A glimpse into our plantation drive where the community, from kids to adults, comes together to plant native trees. It's more than an event; it's a movement to root for tomorrow.
This is your invitation to join our next green weekend. Our "Roots for Tomorrow" event combines tree planting with creative activities like poetry and drawing, making it a wholesome family outing.
About Native Tree Plantations (Roots for Tomorrow)
We do not just dump saplings and leave. We focus on native species like Dhak and Kher because they actually belong in the arid Aravalli soil, and we prep every 1.5ft pit with vermicompost beforehand so the roots have a real fighting chance. It is less about a photo-op and more about ensuring these trees actually survive to see next year.
Why Native Matters
Most people plant whatever is green, but that often means using water-guzzling non-natives that die the moment the tanker stops coming. We go the other way. By planting indigenous species, we rebuild the local biodiversity that the Aravallis need to thrive on their own.
What to Expect
These are not stiff, formal plantation events. You will get mud on your clothes and maybe some paint on your hands. We combine the planting with creative activities like poetry or drawing to make it a wholesome family experience. It is a space for kids to run around and for adults to disconnect from the city chaos.
Logistics
We handle the heavy lifting. Every sapling comes with a pre-dug 1.5ft pit, vermicompost, and organic manure. We also arrange water tankers for the immediate hydration of the saplings after they are in the ground. You just need to show up with a water bottle and a willingness to help.
Our Community
We are a volunteer-driven group of moms, students, and professionals who are tired of watching the landscape turn into concrete. We show up every month because we believe that the only way to save our city is to get involved ourselves. Whether you are a solo volunteer or coming with your family, you will find a group of people who are here for the same reason: to leave Gurugram a little greener than we found it.
Zero Waste
We are just a bunch of regular folks, moms, and students who decided we could not just watch the Aravallis disappear. We started this to get our hands in the soil and teach our kids that nature is something we look after, not just something to look at.
