Behind the Design: The Zeba Process
A look behind our studio curtains, where traditional craftsmanship meets the stories of your spaces.

It was a joy to host students from ISDI for a masterclass at my design center. This video shows the talent and enthusiasm in the room as we discussed design, and the students observed my artisans at work.

About Behind the Design
When we step into a project, the first thing we do is listen. Behind every wall mural, hand-woven rug, or custom fabric in our gallery, there was a conversation—a shared idea about how a room should feel, not just look. This isn't about applying a pattern from a catalog. It is about translating your vision into the language of Indian craft, whether that is through the slow, meditative process of hand-painting a wall or refining the weave of a textile until it feels exactly right for your home.
Our design process is rooted in the idea that a space is a living story. This gallery offers a glimpse into our studio in Parel, Mumbai, where we move beyond simple decoration to create environments that breathe.
The Artisan Approach
Everything you see here is made with intention. When we host masterclasses for students or welcome architects to our design center, we are sharing a legacy of craftsmanship that started in 1984. We believe that true luxury is found in the time taken to perfect a detail—the hours spent on a hand-embroidered motif, the layering of color in a mural, or the specific way a fabric hangs in the light.

We do not believe in mass-production. Instead, we work directly with you to select materials and themes that resonate with your personality. Whether we are transforming a hotel lobby with archival-inspired wallpaper or designing a single piece of canvas art for a quiet corner, the approach remains the same: we analyze the space, select the right artisans for the specific technique, and build the piece from the ground up.

We handle the site measurements, the custom sketches, and the final installation, ensuring that every element—from the texture of the wall paint to the weave of the curtains—aligns with the atmosphere you want to inhabit.
