Explore the foundations of art on paper, from pencil shading to vibrant oil pastels. Whether you are picking up a sketchbook for the first time or want to refine your techniques, we provide the space and guidance to help you draw with confidence.

Creativity in motion! This video shows our students exploring different mixed media techniques, from oil pastels and watercolors to 3D paper crafts, all in one session.

A proud young artist with her vibrant flamingo painting. This piece combines watercolor and drawing, allowing her to explore both blending colors and creating defined lines.

A shy artist peeking over his beautiful oil pastel drawing. We worked on blending techniques to create the soft petals of the tulip and the buzzing bees around it.

Practice makes progress! This student is carefully coloring in a dinosaur worksheet, which is a great way to practice staying within the lines and choosing color combinations.

A close-up look at a watercolor and wax-resist painting in progress. The wax crayon creates a barrier for the paint, revealing a cool pattern and teaching a fun mixed-media technique.

This video demonstrates our creative wax painting activity. Kids draw with wax crayons and then paint over it with watercolors to see the magic of wax-resist art unfold.

Happy Children's Day! This video is a tribute to our little artists, showcasing their wonderful creations using oil pastels and their infectious smiles.

I truly believe every child is an artist. This collage showcases the diverse range of artworks our students create, from landscapes to patterns, each piece full of personality.

A beautiful Ganesha painting created with oil pastels. This student learned how to blend vibrant colors to create smooth gradients and a sense of dimension.

This beautiful watercolor ocean scene was created by one of our middle school students. We focused on watercolor techniques to create the soft, blended look of the water and marine life.

About Drawing, Sketching & Mixed Media

Here is the reality of our studio sessions: we do not just teach you how to draw, we teach you how to see. You will spend time learning how pressure on a pencil changes a sketch, how to layer colored pencils for depth, and why oil pastels on newsprint can be just as fun as on high-quality paper. Our goal is to move past the fear of the blank page and get you comfortable with the process of making a mess.

At YoungPlum, we break down complex concepts into small, manageable wins. You will learn to control your medium, whether it is graphite, colored pencils, or oil pastels. Our approach is hands-on. If you are learning shading, we will have you practice creating value scales until your hand gets used to the pressure. If you are working on portraits or landscapes, we guide you through the composition and color theory step by step.

We keep our batches small, usually 4 to 8 students, which means you get actual feedback rather than generic tips. This is especially helpful for students preparing for art portfolios or school competitions, where you need to balance creativity with technical accuracy. You will also see us experiment with different surfaces. We do not restrict ourselves to high-end paper. You might find yourself using newsprint for sketches or finding ways to combine watercolor with ink. This is about building a toolkit that works for you. Whether you are a student in Punjabi Bagh looking for a weekend hobby or an adult wanting to reconnect with your creative side, our studio is a space where you can be yourself.
