Live Sketching for Events and Performances
I do not just watch your event unfold, I draw it as it happens. From musicians on stage to guests sharing a laugh, I capture the little moments that define your celebration.
This video shows the live orchestra in full swing, followed by the ink sketch I created on the spot. It’s a great example of how I translate the dynamic energy of a live performance into a hand-drawn illustration right then and there.
Another view of my sketchbook page featuring the musician, held up against the real-life setting. This two-page spread in my watercolor sketchbook captures the artist and the gallery space, showing how I document the complete environment of a performance.
A quick flip through my sketchbook reveals various live drawing session sketches. You can see different people captured in candid moments, from a thoughtful pose to someone playing the flute, all done with expressive ink lines.
About Capturing Live Moments & Performances
For live scene illustrations, I need a clear vantage point at your venue. Whether it is a panoramic view of the stage or a quiet corner where guests are mingling, placing me where I can observe the flow of the room ensures I catch the real, unposed energy of your celebration.
When you have a live orchestra, a band, or just a vibrant crowd at a wedding, the atmosphere moves fast. My job is to slow it down on paper. I do not aim for photo-realistic perfection because a camera does that better. I aim for the vibe.
I use pens, ink, and watercolor washes to build a story that feels like a page from a diary. If you are hosting an event in places like Goregaon, Bandra, or South Mumbai, I can come in, find a vantage point, and document the flow.
For event scene illustrations, I focus on the big picture. This might be the mandap setup, the musicians performing, or the crowd energy. I need a stable table and a view that gives me a clear line of sight to the action. If you have specific details you want included, like a family member playing an instrument or a particular floral arrangement, just let me know beforehand. I treat these sketches as my personal chronicle of your day. It is about capturing the soul of the event, not just the decor.
