I find the soul of Mumbai in its everyday chaos—old stalls, street corners, and passing faces. I bring this same observational eye to your events, turning quick moments into hand-drawn sketches that your guests can keep.

Here I am, set up on a sidewalk with my portable chair and sketchbook. This is my element, urban sketching with my local artist group, capturing the daily life of the city.

Another shot of me focused on my sketchbook during an outdoor session near Metro Cinema. These sketch walks are where I practice my craft of drawing people and places from life.

A page from my sketchbook capturing the scene at Mahavir Nagar's khau galli. I love observing people enjoying street food, using their scooters as makeshift tables. These simple, real moments are what inspire my art.

Sketching people in a coffee shop is one of my favorite pastimes. This ink drawing captures the typical cafe scene with people working on laptops, giving a sense of a shared, quiet space.

A different angle of my cafe sketch, showing the open sketchbook in my hand. This is how I see the world, constantly looking for interesting characters and compositions to draw.

Focused on my art, even in the chilly Boston weather. This was my first time sketching with the local urban sketchers group there. Being committed to my art in any environment is a blessing.

A close-up of me drawing during an outdoor event in a park. You can see the concentration as I use my pen to capture the scene on my clipboard, a typical setup for my live sketching work.

This photo shows the community event where I was sketching in Boston. It's wonderful to be part of public gatherings, drawing the crowd and the city skyline in the background.

Another view of the park event, with people gathered around tables and balloons. Being in the middle of the action allows me to capture the true feeling of a community celebration.

Here's my friend and fellow artist Shrikant holding up my sketchbook, which features pencil portraits of him and other artists. Sketching my peers is a great way to practice and share our love for art.

About The Urban Sketcher: My Art & Inspiration

When I set up at your event, I need just a small, well-lit corner with two chairs. My work is not about perfect, stiff poses. I watch for the natural laugh or the quiet conversation between friends, turning those fleeting seconds into quick ink or watercolor sketches. These are not just drawings but yaadgaar cheez (memorable things) that your guests can take home to remember your day.
