Custom Portraits, Watercolors & Caricatures
I believe faces tell the best stories. Whether you want a tiny watercolour portrait of a loved one or a fun digital caricature, I turn your personal memories into art.
A video showcasing all 31 of my mini watercolour portraits from my "Teeny Tiny" Inktober challenge. My theme was gratitude, and each tiny face represents someone I am thankful for.
A series of my acrylic portrait paintings displayed on a wall. The theme for this collection was capturing women in a moment of quiet rest and self-care, using bold colours and expressive brushstrokes.
A quick look at a watercolour portrait I painted. This expressive caricature study was a great practice in capturing likeness and personality with loose, confident brushstrokes.
A vibrant portrait study using acrylic markers. I love experimenting with unconventional colours, like the bright blue hair and yellow highlights, to create a striking and energetic piece.
A sketchbook spread filled with pencil caricatures of my fellow artists. Sketching my friends during our meet-ups is one of my favourite ways to practice and capture their personalities.
A short video showing two expressive female portraits painted in my sketchbook. This was part of a "100 heads challenge" to practice different faces and styles.
A gouache study of a woman in a headscarf. The strong contrast between the deep red background and the cool blue of the scarf creates a powerful and emotive portrait.
A collection of five distinct character portraits on a single sketchbook page. I used acrylic markers and a bold turquoise background to create this imaginative and colourful composition.
A close-up of one of my acrylic on canvas portraits. This piece features a woman with an introspective gaze, set against a warm orange background that highlights her features.
Another painting from my "moment of rest" series. This acrylic on canvas portrait shows a woman smelling a flower, a simple act of finding beauty in the small things.
About Portraits from Life & Imagination
When you commission a portrait, you aren't just sending me a photo to copy. You are sharing a memory. I spend time looking at the expressions and the little details, like a specific smile or a favourite accessory, to make sure the final piece feels like you. For digital files, I keep them high-res so you can print them exactly where you need, while my physical watercolours are painted on heavy 300 GSM paper to last for years.
How We Can Work Together
I offer a few different ways to capture your moments, depending on what you are looking for:
-
Teeny Tiny Watercolours (3x3 to 4x4 inches): These are my favourites for thoughtful, pocket-sized gifts. They are delicate, personal, and perfect for a desk or a bedside table.
-
Custom Digital Portraits: If you want vibrant colours and flexibility, this is the way to go. I deliver high-resolution files (300 DPI) that you can print on anything from birthday cards to canvases. This is usually the quickest option if you have a deadline.
-
A4 Watercolour Portraits: For when you want something substantial for your wall. I focus on capturing the bond between subjects here, so it is great for couples, families, or pet portraits. I always share a pencil sketch for layout approval before I start painting.
The Process
It all starts with a conversation. Tell me the story behind the image. Is it a surprise gift for an anniversary? A memory of a pet? I work in stages to ensure the result is exactly what you hoped for.
Everything is painted or illustrated right here in my Goregaon studio. For physical artworks, I pack them in cello sleeves with rigid cardboard backing to ensure they reach you safe and sound across the country.
