World Music Day Live Performances
Five days, five genres, and our students owning the stage. This is our raw, live take on World Music Day, from Bollywood rock to Led Zeppelin classics.
We kicked off our World Music Day countdown with the powerful Bollywood rock anthem 'Sadda Haq'. Our students brought their own fire to this iconic A.R. Rahman track.
Day 2 of our countdown was a tribute to Country Music with the timeless 'Country Roads'. This raw, unfiltered performance captures the heartfelt storytelling of the genre.
Day 3 brought the explosive energy of Nu-Metal with 'Killing in the Name' by Rage Against the Machine. This performance is all about raw power and unapologetic attitude.
For Day 4, we dove into the infectious groove of Funk Rock with 'Can’t Stop' by Red Hot Chili Peppers. This performance is punchy, unpredictable, and full of character.
We closed our World Music Day celebration with the iconic 'Immigrant Song' by Led Zeppelin. This performance is a burst of primal rhythm and a perfect tribute to the spirit of classic rock.
About World Music Day Celebration
We recorded these performances live on an iPhone, with no digital mixing or studio effects. You are hearing the actual sound of our students jamming, mistakes and all. That is the point of what we do: music is about the grit, the energy, and the experience of playing together, not just perfecting a track in isolation.
For World Music Day, we decided to push our students out of their comfort zones. Instead of quiet, sterile classroom practice, we challenged them to perform iconic tracks across five distinct genres: Bollywood, Country, Nu-Metal, Funk Rock, and Classic Rock.
Why We Do It This Way
Most music schools teach you to play in a bubble. Here at Yellow Lights, we believe the real magic happens when you have to lock in with a drummer, watch your bassist for cues, and vibe with a vocalist. Our students took on A.R. Rahman's 'Sadda Haq', the country standard 'Country Roads', Rage Against the Machine’s heavy hitting 'Killing in the Name', and more.
The Gear & The Vibe
Located in Kavesar, Thane West, our studio is fully equipped with Pearl drums, Marshall amps, and Shure microphones. But for this series, we stripped the production back. We used live audio captured directly on a phone to show that you don't need a million-dollar studio to sound like a musician. You need a band, rhythm, and the confidence to perform.
Join the Band
Whether you play guitar, drums, piano, or want to master western vocals, we aren't just teaching you scales. We are teaching you how to listen, how to jam, and how to get on stage. If you are tired of boring theory and want to join a community that treats music like a lifestyle, come visit our studio in Thane. Let us help you find your sound and get you ready to rock.
Yellow Lights
I started Yellow Lights because I wanted a space where you learn music by actually playing it with others, not just staring at sheet music. Here, you are not a student sitting in a row; you are a band member, a performer, and part of our crazy musical family in Thane.
