Jam Room Sessions & Creative Process
Watch how we turn individual instrument lessons into a cohesive band performance. Our jam room is where students move beyond practice and learn to connect, sync, and play together as a unit.
A quick look inside our jam room. This is where ideas are born, skills are honed, and students transform into a cohesive band.
From dismantling the drum kit in the studio to setting up at the venue, this video shows the entire journey from studio to stage. It's a look at the hard work that happens before the show even starts.
What does it feel like before a big show? This behind-the-scenes clip captures the nervous energy, the soundcheck moments, and the student interviews right before they hit the stage.
A sneak peek from a rehearsal for our Christmas Eve show. This is where we fine-tune the setlist, lock in the parts, and build the energy that we'll bring to the live performance.
A sibling duo brings some holiday cheer with their piano and guitar cover of "Jingle Bell Rock". Our studio is a space for students to collaborate and have fun with music.
Mastering drum parts from non-mainstream rock genres pushes our students to become more versatile. Here's a look at a drummer working on complex rhythms in our acoustically treated studio.
Our student Aajitesh channeling his rhythm onto the drum kit. The focused environment of our studio allows for deep practice and self-expression.
A clip from one of our intimate trial shows for parents. A student is seen here delivering a powerful guitar solo, getting comfortable with performing in a supportive setting.
The mood in the jam room during a rehearsal. The low lighting and focused energy help our students get into the zone and connect with the music.
Our vocalist interacting with the band and the small audience of parents during a trial show. These sessions are crucial for building stage confidence.
About Jam Room: The Creative Process
The transition from playing alone at home to jamming with a drummer and a bassist is where most students get stuck. In our sessions, we strip away the theory books and focus on active listening and communication, teaching you how to find your pocket in the groove. It is loud, occasionally messy, and the exact environment you need to start sounding like a real musician instead of a student following a page.
Our jam room is not a classroom; it is a laboratory for sound. When you enter our studio in Kavesar, you are stepping into a space designed for collaboration. We use professional gear, including Pearl drum kits, Zildjian cymbals, and Kustom Sound amplifiers, to ensure that the music you hear is the music you feel.
Why Jamming Matters
We believe you are not a musician until you can play with others. That is why our curriculum includes specific modules on the Art of Accompaniment. You will learn to:
- Lock in with the Rhythm Section: Syncing your guitar or keyboard riffs with the drummer and bassist.
- Dynamic Playing: Understanding when to play loud, when to pull back, and how to create texture in a song.
- Stagecraft: Using our trial shows to get comfortable with the stage, soundchecks, and performing under lights before the big event.
The Process
We don't expect perfection. In fact, we encourage you to make mistakes during these rehearsals because that is where the growth happens. Whether you are working on a Bollywood rock cover or a classic metal anthem, we help you arrange your parts so they fit into the larger sound of the Yellow Lights Band. We record rehearsals and play them back so you can hear your progress from the outside, which is a massive reality check for any budding musician.
Join the Band
Every student gets the opportunity to join our official band and perform live shows across Thane. This isn't just about learning scales; it is about the camaraderie and the shared energy of a live performance. Come by the studio, plug in, and let us show you how we turn a rehearsal into a performance.
Yellow Lights
I am Aditya, and at Yellow Lights, we don't believe in keeping music locked in a classroom. We get you out of your chair and onto the floor, learning to play in sync with others from day one. It is about building the courage to make mistakes, laugh about them, and keep the music flowing.
