Custom Marigold & Prop-Themed Haldi Setup
Thematic Backdrop & Stage
- Backdrop Design: Custom-painted ply or fabric-wrapped backdrop (approx. 10ft x 10ft) featuring motifs like Mango Magic, Lotus Pond, or geometric patterns. Includes 3D foam/thermocol cutouts or hanging floral tassels.
- Couple Seating: A decorated traditional Jhula (Swing) or a sankheda bench with vibrant cushions and bolster pillows to match the color palette (typically yellow, green, or pink).
- Stage Flooring: Basic carpet or yellow/white vinyl masking for the immediate stage area.
- Floral Accents: Heavy use of Marigolds (Genda) in orange and yellow. Inclusion of Tuberoses (Rajnigandha) for fragrance. Setup includes floral rangoli near the couple's seating.
Entrance & Walkway
- Welcome Arch: A box-truss arch or wooden frame arch fully wrapped in marigold strings or draped in colorful fabrics (chiffon/georgette) with floral bunches at corners.
- Signage: One personalized Welcome easel board with floral borders and couple's hashtags.
- Walkway Props: Placement of 4-6 large brass pots (Urlis) with water and floating petals along the path.
Guest Area & Props
- Photo Booth: One quirky photo corner with props (sunglasses, placards) and a decorated cycle or rickshaw cutout or a floral frame.
- Table Centerpieces: Small mason jars with single marigold stems or brass diyas for up to 10 guest tables.
- Traditional Elements: Usage of banana leaves and brass lamps (Samay) to enhance the traditional South Indian aesthetic.
Grand South Indian Floral Mandap & Walkway
The Grand Mandap (Mantapa)
- Structure: A 4-pillar or 6-pillar Mandap structure (approx. 12ft x 12ft). Options include traditional carved wooden pillars or gold-metal frames wrapped in floral garlands.
- Ceiling Floral Work: Dense, high-volume floral droppings using Tuberose (Rajnigandha) or Jasmine strings intertwined with red roses or lotus buds. This creates a signature waterfall floral look.
- Backdrop: A wall of thick floral pasting (mix of real and high-quality artificial for depth) or a traditional Tirupati style screen with deity motifs.
- Ritual Elements: Two traditional silver or gold-plated high-back chairs for the couple. Havan Kund space preparation and carpeting inside the Mandap (red/maroon).
Aisle & Entrance Walkway
- Floral Tunnel/Arch: A 15-20ft walkway featuring overhead floral trellises with hanging brass bells and tuberose strings.
- Aisle Decor: Lining the aisle with large, fresh banana plants (with fruit bunches) tied to pillars, and brass oil lamps (Kuthu Vilakku) placed every 5 feet.
- Welcome Area: A grand floral arch at the main venue door matching the Mandap theme.
Hall Decor & Lighting
- Lighting: Warm yellow mood lighting (Par cans) for the Mandap area to highlight the flowers.
- Guest Seating Accents: Chair bows (sashes) or floral tie-backs for the first 2-3 rows of family seating.
- Signage: Hastamelap or Muhurtham timing boards with floral borders.

Grand Stage Fabrication
- Stage Backdrop: Massive 30ft to 40ft wide stage backdrop. Design options include:
- Floral Wall: A dense wall of mixed florals (Real Roses/Carnations + High-quality silk Hydrangeas for filler) in deep reds or pastels.
- Royal Structure: Fabricated panels with gold geometric lines, velvet padding, or mirror-work inserts.
- Ceiling Installations: Installation of metal trusses to hang 3-5 large crystal chandeliers or wisteria floral hangings above the couple.
- Flooring: Custom printed vinyl flooring for the stage area (e.g., black and white checkerboard, marble texture, or floral print) to replace standard carpets.
- Furniture: Premium velvet tufted sofa (3-seater) in beige, emerald green, or deep red, along with matching side consoles.
Lighting & Special Effects
- Entrance Tunnel: A signature Fairy Light Tunnel or Shimmer Wall walkway (approx. 20ft long) creating a magical entry experience.
- Intelligent Lighting: Truss-mounted moving head lights (Sharpies) and washers to create dynamic color changes on the stage.
- SFX: 6 shots of Cold Pyros (Sparklers) for the couple's entry or cake cutting, plus low-fog smoke machine effect.
Guest Ambience
- Round Table Decor: 10-15 Round table centerpieces featuring tall gold stands with floral balls and battery-operated candles.
- Bar Decor: A styled bar counter with custom signage (neon or floral board) and overhead hanging bulbs/lanterns.
- Photo Op: A dedicated photobooth with a Love sign, neon quotes, or a floral ring backdrop.

Hey, we’re Bhavishath and Akshitha—Wedding Stories is our baby. Been at this for 12 years, mostly between Mysore and Bengaluru. We get our ideas from everything around us, like a Thotti Mane or Chamundi Hill, even simple fresh flowers. What keeps us going?
