About Stunning Back Hand Artistry

When we design for the back of your hand, we focus on the flow from your fingertips up to your elbow. It is crucial to consider your bridal blouse sleeve length. If your outfit has heavy work on the sleeves, we adjust the henna pattern so it doesn't clash. Me and Jashvant make sure the design frames your hands and wrists perfectly, balancing negative space so the intricate jaal or floral motifs don't look cluttered.

Your back-hand design acts as a bridge between your jewelry and your bridal outfit. Because this area is constantly on display during rituals like the varmala or when posing for photos, we prioritize 'flow'—ensuring the patterns follow the natural anatomy of your hand and arm.

Our Approach to Back-Hand Artistry

  • Custom Alignment: Whether you want a full-arm design or a chic, minimal style, we ensure the central motif aligns with your wrist or mid-hand. We often incorporate your initials or a hidden element here, creating a personalized touch.
  • Technique & Depth: We use a combination of fine-line work for the details and bold shading for the motifs. This contrast makes the design 'pop' in photographs. Our signature style involves merging traditional jaal (lattice) work with modern elements like lotus flowers, elephants, or architectural jharokhas.
  • Balancing the Look: We know that a back-hand design shouldn't compete with your bangles or hathphool. We work with you to decide where the henna should end—whether it should stop at the wrist for a subtle look or extend up to the elbow for a grand, traditional bridal appearance.

We are based in Mumbai but travel across India to work with our brides. If you have a specific theme in mind—perhaps mixing a city skyline with traditional peacocks—let us know. Every sketch starts on paper to ensure the placement is exactly what you envisioned before we pick up the cone.
