About Bridal Hair & Styling
Planning your hairstyle involves more than just picking a photo from Instagram. If you are leaning towards an open-hair look or a braid, ensure your bridal dupatta is lightweight. A heavy dupatta pulls on the hair, causing discomfort during the ceremony, while a well-secured bun often keeps you stress-free through hours of dancing.
Finding Your Perfect Bridal Style
I believe your hair should reflect your personal vibe, whether that is classic, romantic, or modern. When we chat about your look, I always look at your outfit neckline, the weight of your jewelry, and your comfort levels.
Braids vs. Buns
Many of my brides want a beautiful braid, especially for pre-wedding functions or those with a traditional lehenga. If you choose a braid, I always recommend having a good volume of hair or using high-quality extensions to get that full, rich look. We need to avoid overly messy styles that might unravel during long rituals.
For the main wedding day, a classic bun is often the most practical choice. It allows us to secure your dupatta, mathapatti, and fresh flowers firmly, so you do not have to worry about anything slipping out while you walk down the aisle or move through the pheras.
Tips for a Long-Lasting Look
- Dupatta Weight: If you want a braid or open hair, please choose a light dupatta. Heavy, embroidered dupattas are beautiful, but they can be a headache if pinned directly into delicate hairstyles.
- Hair Prep: We use heavy-duty setting sprays to ensure your style holds up for 6+ hours, no matter how much you dance.
- Accessories: Whether it is fresh gajra, intricate hair pins, or your family jewelry, bring them during our trial so we can see exactly how they sit.
Ultimately, the goal is to make you feel like yourself. If you are confused about what will suit your face shape or your bridal outfit, send me a message and let's figure it out together.
