We have been renting out the Btwin Triban RC 100 to clients and have a lot of thoughts on it. Here is our personal user review of this popular entry-level road bike.

Our honest user review of the Btwin Triban RC 100 after 9 months of use. We liked the alloy frame and saddle but found some issues with the drivetrain and crank bolts.

A full shot of the Btwin Triban RC 100. It's a popular choice for beginners, and we provide a detailed review on our website based on our experience.

The frame is a 6061 T6 aluminium alloy with a comfort-oriented geometry. This gives the rider a more upright and relaxed position compared to a classic race bike.

The Btwin Sport 100 saddle is one of the better features of this bike. We found it to be of good quality and comfortable for most riders.

The bike comes with a Shimano Tourney rear derailleur. It's a basic but reliable component that works well with the 7-speed microSHIFT shifter for an entry-level road bike.

The Triban RC 100 features 700c double-walled rims. These are sturdy and reliable for city riding and long-distance touring.

The bike is equipped with standard aluminum brake levers and cartridge brake pads. This system offers decent braking efficiency and is very easy to maintain.

A look at the single chainring crankset. This bike does not have front gears, which simplifies things for beginners, but we note that a front derailleur can be added later.

The cockpit features a microSHIFT 7-speed shifter on the handlebar. It provides a good feel and reliable shifting for a bike at this price point.

About Bike Reviews & Tech Insights

After renting the Triban RC 100 for nine months, we have found it is a solid entry-level road bike for beginners, but it demands attention. Our main recurring issues have been the seat post screw loosening and the left crank arm needing frequent re-tightening, so we recommend keeping a basic toolkit handy if you ride this daily.
