Collaborative Electronic Music Projects & Community Building
I believe that the Indian electronic music scene grows when we share knowledge and build together. From studio jam sessions to designing custom event soundscapes, my collaborations focus on audio integrity and raw connection.
A look behind the scenes at my project, Trifecta. We partnered with Wasi Khan's homegrown brand, Atomik Audio, to provide a custom sound system for our event. For us, sound quality is paramount, and we always want to showcase the incredible talent we have right here in India.
A studio jam session with my friend and frequent collaborator, Premik Jolly. We're using two Roland SP-404 MkII samplers to build beats and rhythms together in real-time. These sessions are where many of our track ideas are born.
About this collection
When I collaborate with other producers or audio engineers like Wasi Khan of Atomik Audio, we aren't just making music, we are chasing a specific sonic standard. Whether it’s syncing Roland SP-404s for a jam session or engineering a custom sound system for an event, the focus remains on audio integrity. If you want to discuss a project or join our community, let’s talk about the technical foundation first.
Building The Foundation
My approach to community projects is simple: we start with the gear and the philosophy, then we build the event around that. When I founded The Foundation, the goal was not to just put on parties, but to elevate the technical standard of what we call 'underground' techno in India.
Projects and Partnerships
- Trifecta: This is where my love for hardware meets live performance. For our recent event at The Park, we didn't just rent a generic PA system. We collaborated with Atomik Audio to design a custom sound setup that could handle the low-end frequencies of proper techno. It makes a massive difference when you are playing records that are designed for high-fidelity club systems.
- Studio Jams: Collaboration happens off-stage too. I frequently host sessions in my studio with artists like Premik Jolly. We run signal chains through gear like the Roland SP-404 MkII to build rhythms and textures in real-time. This isn't about DAW-based production where everything is quantized to death; it is about human timing, machine interaction, and capturing that raw energy.
How We Collaborate
I am always looking to connect with artists and organizers who care about the signal chain as much as the tracklist. Whether you are an event organizer looking for a specific sound design approach or a producer looking to jam on hardware, the criteria for collaboration are the same: a shared commitment to audio quality and a genuine passion for electronic music. I work remotely with artists across India, so distance is never a barrier to starting a project.
Tuhin Mehta
I’m Tuhin, and for me, the dance floor is just the end result of a long, collaborative process. I run The Foundation to connect producers and engineers across India, creating platforms where quality audio comes before anything else.
