The Sahyadris are different when it rains. I take small groups to the heart of the monsoon, exploring mighty waterfalls and historic forts that most tourists miss. Come, experience the raw madness of the Western Ghats.

This is a glimpse of our Maharashtra trip. From misty mountains to the mighty Kathaldar waterfalls, this journey is an epic monsoon adventure.

The famous Devkund Waterfall in Maharashtra, a stunning plunge waterfall that creates a beautiful turquoise pool. It's a rewarding trek to a truly magical place.

Even when I'm in Maharashtra, my heart is with Karnataka. Proudly holding the Kannada flag at a spectacular waterfall location in the Sahyadris.

Day 5 in Maharashtra. Waking up to this crazy view from our room in Khireshwar, the base village for the Harishchandragad trek. You can see waterfalls right from the window.

A moment of fun and a reminder about safety before we start a river crossing. I always tell my group, "husharagi banni, safe aagi hogi" (come carefully, go safely).

Driving towards Kalu Waterfalls on Day 4 of our Maharashtra trip. The roads and the landscapes here are just as beautiful as the destinations themselves.

Witnessing the "mini Niagara" as the dam gates are opened. The sheer force and volume of the water is something you have to see to believe.

The raw power of the Bhandardara Dam overflowing during heavy rains. The wind was so strong it was creating waves like a sea. An unforgettable, crazy experience.

Day 3 at our Bhandardara campsite. After two days of non-stop rain and trekking to seven waterfalls, the group is tired but happy. We even had chicken curry for breakfast!

An off-road jeep ride through the muddy tracks of the Sahyadris. The journey is part of the adventure, and these local drivers are experts.

About Maharashtra Monsoon Madness

This is not a luxury resort tour. We trek through mud, brave non-stop rain, and eat local meals in village homes. If you want to see the Sahyadris when the waterfalls are roaring, you have to be ready to get your boots dirty. It is raw, it is wet, and it is worth every drop of rain.
