About Tabla & Percussion Covers
Most of these covers are recorded on my rooftop or in open fields, capturing raw sound without heavy studio polish. This is how I experiment with rhythms before I take them to the stage for a hybrid DJ set or a live wedding performance. If you like the sound of these beats, know that I bring this same unedited, live energy to your event, whether it is a small gathering or a massive celebration.
My Approach to Percussion
My style is built on the foundation of traditional Indian percussion, but I push those boundaries by mixing them with modern electronic beats. When you listen to these covers, you are hearing the same techniques I use during my hybrid live shows.
The Hybrid Rig
I do not just play acoustic drums. I use a hybrid percussion setup that includes a concert-grade tabla pair, timbales, rototoms, and electronic pads. This allows me to perform alongside DJs at high-energy club nights, dropping live beats over Bolly-tech and Punjabi-tech tracks. My goal is to add a percussive layer that feels like part of the original song.
Why Live Percussion Matters
Adding a live element to your event changes the atmosphere. Whether it is a sangeet, a corporate gala, or a private party, live percussion provides a level of engagement that a recorded track cannot match. I track the energy of the crowd and adjust my playing speed and volume accordingly.
Where I Perform
While Delhi is my home base, I travel across India for events. My performances range from intimate, soulful acoustic sets for pheras, where I pair the tabla with a piano or sitar, to loud, festival-style shows involving marching drums and CO2 effects. If you have a specific vibe in mind, we can talk about the right ensemble to match it.
