About Dining & Gathering Spaces
We believe a dining table should offer more than just a surface. When we design your piece, we focus on circulation space, typically planning for 36 to 42 inches around the table to ensure you can move comfortably while hosting. We rely on traditional joinery like mortise and tenon rather than nails for structural integrity, and for wider spans, we integrate internal metal reinforcements to prevent the wood from sagging over time.
Dining is a ritual. Whether it is a quick morning coffee or a long, weekend dinner, the space where you gather dictates the quality of that time. At our workshop in New Delhi, we move away from standard manufacturing to create dining areas that are built to suit the unique flow of your home.
The Craft of Connection
Our process begins with understanding how you live. For us, a dining table is a structural exercise in balance. We often prototype our shapes, creating raw structure mock-ups or 'farma' to test ergonomics. This ensures that the back angles of chairs and the height of the table align perfectly with your body. We avoid trends, preferring solid materials like kiln-dried oak, teak, and ash, which are treated to prevent warping. Surfaces are finished with hand-rubbed linseed oil or Italian PU matte coatings, making them resistant to heat, water rings, and daily use.
Beyond the Table
Gathering spaces extend to bar counters and buffet units. We design these with the same rigour, utilizing premium mechanisms like soft-close runners for silent operation. Whether it is a boomerang-shaped table designed to encourage conversation or a bar unit crafted to display travel mementos, every detail is intentional. We prioritize stable, sculptural bases that maximize legroom, ensuring the table anchors the room without cluttering the floor space.
