See what happens when you swap scrolling for building. These are real projects made by our members in our Horamavu makerspace—from custom furniture to high-tech prototypes.

A showcase of member creativity in wood. This clip features a young maker using a hand saw, an intricate cross-lap joint structure, an instructor assembling a project, and a colorful, interactive wall art piece made of wooden blocks.

A member proudly displays a small wooden toy van he has just finished carving and sanding. This is a great example of a small, personal project that allows for creativity and the practice of fine woodworking skills.

A member demonstrates a functional takedown bow they crafted from wood in the workshop. The video shows the process of shaping the wood with a jigsaw and the final assembled bow, ready for action.

This custom-designed wooden rack, made with precisely drilled holes and dowels, is a great example of a practical and well-executed member project. It shows how you can create functional items tailored to your specific needs.

This video highlights the diverse materials our members work with. It shows the process of creating a beautiful resin river table, where intricate laser-cut patterns are embedded in clear resin and finished with a blowtorch.

This handcrafted bar trolley, made from reclaimed whiskey barrels for Paul John Whisky, is back for a refresh. It showcases the high level of craftsmanship our members can achieve, creating professional, commercial-grade furniture.

An intern's creative project: a "Yoga Dog" lamp. This playful and functional piece, made from simple wooden parts and basic wiring, shows how a little imagination can turn basic materials into something unique and charming.

An architecture intern explains his "tensegrity" coffee table, a structure that seems to float, held together by tension. This is a fantastic example of how members use the workshop to experiment with advanced design and engineering concepts.

A look at the variety of hand-crafting skills practiced here. This clip shows a member using a chisel to carve a wooden bowl, another assembling a bamboo wind chime, and a third using a blowtorch for a Shou Sugi Ban wood finish.

About The Maker Showcase

If you have an idea, you likely have everything you need to start, except maybe the right tools and the space. Whether you are fixing a family heirloom, prototyping a startup idea, or just want to weld something for the first time, you don't need to be a pro to get started. Just bring your raw materials and your curiosity—we have the saws, kilns, and workspace to help you see it through.

We aren't a school, and we don't do pre-packaged crafts. This is an open-access makerspace in Horamavu designed for people who want to actually build things. If you have a project in mind—whether it's a tensegrity coffee table or a custom bar trolley—you get full access to our Woodworking, Metalworking, and Digital Fabrication zones.

We have MIG and Arc welding stations, laser cutters, 3D printers, and industrial power tools like mitre saws and routers ready for your project.

Membership Options

  • Weekend Warrior Pass: Best for quick fixes or DIY tests. You get 6–12 hours of access, valid for 7 days with a shared workbench.
  • Serious Builder Pack: Ideal for furniture or fabrication projects. These 40–80 hour packs include floor storage so you don't have to clear your bench every night.
  • The BOXX: A dedicated private studio for teams or hardware startups who need a permanent setup without daily pack-up.

Not sure where to start? Drop by during our open hours. Bring your own wood, metal, or consumables, follow the safety protocols, and get to work.

The Workshop

We built The Workshop because we got tired of hearing that making is just for kids or professionals. We're a crew of makers who think the best way to learn is by getting your hands covered in sawdust, clay, or metal shavings, so come over to Horamavu and start building.
