Hands-On STEM Projects and Workshop Highlights in Bengaluru

See what happens when kids put down the screens and pick up real tools. These projects show the messy, noisy, and brilliant reality of our tinkering workshops.

We believe learning is doing. This is a quick look at our students in action, building everything from hydraulic mazes to art bots and Bluetooth speakers. We make STEM concepts tangible, fun, and exciting.

This is what real engagement looks like. We guide students as they handle complex components like motherboards and cooling fans, demystifying the technology inside a gaming PC and building their confidence with every part they install.

Here is a glimpse into one of our school workshops where students are building and playing their own cardboard electric guitars. We bring all the tools and materials needed to turn any classroom into a vibrant maker space.

Learning practical life skills is a core part of our philosophy. Here, students work together to understand the mechanics of a bicycle, learning how to adjust brakes and handle tools, which empowers them to fix things themselves.

I believe that when a child asks to take something apart, the answer should always be yes. In this video, I explain our core philosophy of fostering curiosity and problem-solving by letting kids explore the world around them with their own hands.

The pure joy of seeing your creation come to life. This student is watching their custom-built scribble bot create a unique piece of art, a project that combines basic electronics, motors, and a lot of imagination.

A whole army of insect bots ready to go. Each student in our workshop builds their own bot from scratch, learning about gears, motors, and circuits in the process. They leave not just with a cool toy, but with the pride of having made it themselves.

About this collection

Notice how the wires are sometimes taped down and the cardboard edges aren't perfect? That is intentional. When we guide kids through building a Bluetooth speaker or a hydraulic maze, we prioritize their understanding of the connection over a clean, showroom finish. It means when they get home, they actually know how to fix it if a wire pops loose, because they built it themselves.

Our workshops aren't about handing out plastic, pre-molded kits where the child just snaps pieces together and walks away. Whether we are hosting an in-school workshop at places like Mallya Aditi or running an after-school club, the focus is on the 'messy middle.' This is the part where things don't fit, the glue is running, or the circuit isn't closing.

We provide real tools: screwdrivers, wire strippers, hot glue guns, and soldering irons. Yes, we provide safety gear and supervision, but the handling is done by the students. When a child takes apart a PC to understand how a motherboard works, or spends two hours debugging why their insect bot won't move, they are building resilience alongside physics knowledge.

We operate across Bengaluru, focusing on ages 7 to 13. We believe that if you give a child a real tool and a clear goal, they will surprise you with their problem-solving ability. We don't want to create perfect robots; we want to create kids who aren't afraid to take things apart to see how they tick.

Tinkernauts

On-site workshops for schools in BengaluruStarting ₹950 Per Student Per Session (Approx. 2 Hours)

I'm Rohan. I started Tinkernauts because I was tired of saying 'no' to my own kids' curiosity. Now, I help students across Bangalore swap screens for screwdrivers and learn that mistakes are just the first step in a prototype.
